Khanh Hoa opens peak general food safety inspection, strictly handles fake food

On July 26, information from Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee said that the locality has just implemented a plan to strengthen coordination between forces in detecting and handling violations of food safety, from July to the end of December 31, 2026, in which the peak inspection period takes place from today to August 7. The scope of implementation is throughout the province, focusing on areas and subjects at high risk of food production, business and import.

The Provincial People's Committee assigned the establishment of an inter-sectoral Steering Committee headed by the Director of the Provincial Police, and the Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade as Standing Deputy Head.

Inter-sectoral working groups will conduct reviews, statistics, and make a list of organizations and individuals with signs of violations for inspection and handling according to regulations.

Key targets include food production, processing, and trading establishments; logistics enterprises; slaughterhouses.

In particular, food suppliers for collective kitchens, schools, hospitals; organizations and individuals who have violated food safety regulations; business accounts on e-commerce platforms and social networks showing signs of using fake information, false advertising or taking advantage of AI, KOL, KOC to market products.

Functional forces will focus on inspecting at seaports, cold storages, wholesale markets, chain stores, shopping centers, industrial parks, tourist areas, areas around schools, hospitals and street food business locations.

Inspections are carried out unexpectedly as soon as suspicious signs are detected, without waiting for the end of the review phase.

In case there are signs of crime, the file will be transferred to the investigating agency for handling according to regulations.

The Provincial Police and the Market Management Sub-Department will also strengthen propaganda, publicize typical cases, and warn about methods and tricks of violation.

At the same time, mobilize people not to use food of unknown origin, actively reflect violations through hotlines, VNeID applications and other information receiving channels.
