Long Thanh airport passenger terminal technical operation in September
Dong Nai - Long Thanh airport passenger terminal will be technically operational in September 2026, moving towards commercial operation at the end of the year.
On June 17, according to information from Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), package 5.10 for the construction of Long Thanh airport passenger terminal has now reached an implementation value of more than 23,492 billion VND, reaching a rate of more than 65%, this package will be technically operated in September 2026.
This is a bidding package belonging to Component Project 3 - Long Thanh Airport Project phase 1.
According to reports from relevant units, the total value of output implemented of the project reached 65,602/86,348.558 billion VND, equivalent to 75.97% of the total value of signed contracts.
The entire component project 3 of Long Thanh airport has 15 main construction packages (currently 3 packages have been completed and 12 packages are under construction).
In which, package 5.10, construction and installation of passenger terminal equipment, the project is likened to the "heart" of Long Thanh airport, and at the same time this package is also the deciding benchmark for the progress of the entire project.
The bidding package is constructed by Vietur consortium, started in July 2023, with a contract value of nearly 36,000 billion VND.
Up to now, the contractor consortium has mobilized thousands of personnel, machinery and equipment to deploy construction, basically completing the reinforced concrete structure, steel roof structure, and glass wall elevation.
Previously, on June 13, Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh and a working delegation inspected the actual progress of the Long Thanh airport project.
According to ACV's report, the realized value of the entire project to date has reached over 76%. Contractors are simultaneously accelerating, organizing "3 shifts, 4 teams" day and night, and at the same time responding to the "180 days to accelerate to the finish line" emulation period.
Currently, the construction site maintains an average of more than 6,800 direct workers, an increase of more than 6.5% compared to the end of May 2026. However, the project still lacks nearly 2,000 personnel compared to the requirements, mainly skilled technical workers and personnel operating specialized equipment.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Hung, Acting General Director of ACV, said that the investor is requesting contractors to supplement enough, even supplement excess manpower to organize construction day and night, prioritizing early completion of items to limit the impact of weather during the rainy season.
According to the schedule, the Long Thanh airport project will be put into operation by the end of 2026.
Regarding the project energizing, on June 9, ACV coordinated with Dong Nai Power Company (PCĐN) to energize from the 110kV substation to the PWR-ACV power supply receiving station including 6 22kV medium-voltage lines through Tunnel line 3 and line 4 successfully, ready to supply electricity to the project's loads.
