Da Nang supports heart surgery costs for children with congenital heart disease
Da Nang implements a policy to support the cost of examination and heart surgery along with food and travel expenses for children with congenital heart disease in the area.
On June 17, Da Nang City People's Committee announced that it had issued Official Dispatch No. 5474/UBND-SYT on the implementation of Resolution No. 45/2026/NQ-HĐND stipulating policies to support heart surgery for children with congenital heart disease in Da Nang city.
Accordingly, the City People's Committee assigned the Department of Health to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies, units and localities to soon advise the City People's Committee to issue administrative procedures to implement policies specified in the Resolution; guide the implementation of policies in Resolution No. 45/2026/NQHĐND to ensure compliance with legal regulations.
Departments, agencies, branches, associations, unions, and local authorities concerned, based on their assigned functions and tasks, organize the dissemination and implementation of policy contents specified in Resolution No. 45/2026/NQ-HDND to achieve effectiveness and in accordance with regulations. At the same time, promote the mobilization of organizations and individuals to participate in supporting examination and surgery for children with congenital heart disease in the city.
The City People's Committee requests the City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and socio-political organizations of the city to coordinate with departments, agencies, branches, and localities to organize propaganda and guidance on the implementation of Resolution No. 45/2026/NQ-HDND and related support mechanisms and policies; and at the same time supervise the implementation of the Resolution according to its functions and tasks.
Policy to support children with congenital heart disease in each heart examination and surgery, including: support for examination and surgery costs; food support; travel support.
Specifically, supporting the payment of the remaining part of the medical examination costs related to heart surgery, heart surgery costs after deducting the payment part of health insurance and the support from mobilized, sponsored, and aid sources of organizations and individuals at home and abroad.
Food support with a level of 150,000 VND/child/day (according to the actual number of days from the date of hospitalization for heart surgery to the date of discharge on the hospital's confirmation); the support period does not exceed 15 days.
Support travel expenses in the city according to the actual prices of popular means of transport.
Support for travel expenses for cases indicated for examination and surgery at medical examination and treatment facilities outside the city at the actual price of public transport, but not exceeding 3 million VND/child/examination and surgery course.
