Warming hearts with Mid-Autumn gifts

Leaving her hometown of Tuyen Quang, Ms. Hoang Thi Kim Thiet has been working in Hai Phong for 10 years. Away from home, busy work makes holidays and Tet become the time she looks forward to so that her family can have more moments of reunion.

As a worker at Credible Vietnam Co., Ltd. (An Phat 1 Industrial Park, An Phu commune), Ms. Thiet was touched when receiving a Mid-Autumn gift from the Trade Union organization.

Going to work away from home for many years, every Mid-Autumn Festival receiving such attention, I feel very touched. The gift is not only of material value but also an encouragement for workers to feel that they are always being cared for" - Ms. Thiet shared.

For workers far from home, the care from the Trade Union during holidays for the children of workers is of practical significance. Behind each gift is concern for family life, helping workers feel more secure at work.

At Biel Crystal Technology Production Co., Ltd. (An Phat 1 Industrial Park), the grassroots trade union organized the handover of Mid-Autumn Festival gifts to union members and workers. Along with that, 135 gifts were concerned and supported by the Hai Phong City Labor Federation for workers and children of union members in suitable circumstances.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan Phuong - Chairwoman of the grassroots Trade Union of Biel Crystal Technology Production Co., Ltd. said that organizing Mid-Autumn Festival and giving gifts directly to workers is an activity that the grassroots Trade Union focuses on.

This is a joy for union members and workers. Through these gifts, we want to share and encourage brothers and sisters not only in life but also in work, so that everyone can feel the companionship of the Trade Union organization" - Ms. Phuong said.

Not only giving gifts, at many units, trade union officials, union members and workers also prepare Mid-Autumn Festival feasts for workers' children. People who work daily on the production line join hands to create colorful feasts, sending feelings for the children.

Concern from the City Labor Federation

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Quyet - Standing Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City Labor Federation, this Mid-Autumn Festival, the City Labor Federation organized 2 "Happy Mid-Autumn Festival" programs at Phuc Dien Industrial Park and An Duong Industrial Park; and allocated 18,000 gifts to children of union members and workers in difficult circumstances, of which 9,000 gifts were for industrial parks.

This is part of a series of regular care activities, aimed at union members, workers and their families. Especially during the Lunar New Year, more than 300,000 union members and workers benefited from care programs with a total value of over 482 billion VND. During Workers' Month, 3,480 cases of difficulty, work accidents, and serious illnesses were supported with over 5 billion VND.

Along with that, the City Labor Federation distributed 7,500 free swimming tickets to union members, workers and children of union members, with 57,547 swimming trips in the summer of 2026.

In particular, 1,010 orphans who are children of union members who have passed away received regular support of 300,000 VND/child/month; 1,671 children who won excellent student prizes were commended and rewarded, including 52 children who won national prizes and 1,619 children who won city-level prizes.

According to Mr. Quyet, the above activities show the companionship of the Trade Union organization not only with workers but also with families and the growth process of union members' children.

Caring for the children of union members and workers needs to be done regularly and practically, from the specific needs of each worker's family" - Mr. Quyet emphasized.

Leaders of the City Labor Federation requested grassroots trade unions to continue to firmly grasp the circumstances of union members, promptly support difficult cases; proactively dialogue and negotiate with employers to have more appropriate policies for workers raising young children.

Grassroots Trade Unions also need to pay attention to supporting education, nurseries, kindergartens, living conditions and organizing reasonable working hours, helping workers have more conditions to take care of their families.

From Mid-Autumn gifts to long-term care programs, that companionship contributes to making workers feel more secure at work, and at the same time brings workers' children more fulfilling Mid-Autumn seasons.
