Grassroots trade unions in Da Nang take care of each union member's family

Caring from the most practical needs

During the Mid-Autumn Festival of 2026, in many agencies, units, and businesses in Da Nang city, the joyful atmosphere of the full moon festival has come to union members and workers through a series of activities organized by grassroots trade unions.

In Hoi An Tay Ward, grassroots trade unions directly under the Ward Trade Union have proactively coordinated with leaders of agencies, units, and businesses to organize many programs for children.

Depending on the conditions of each unit, activities are organized quite diversely, from giving Mid-Autumn gifts, cultural exchanges, lion dances, breaking feasts to folk games, and celebrating the full moon festival.

A noteworthy point is that care is not only limited to fun programs. Grassroots Trade Unions also pay special attention to children of union members, workers in difficult circumstances, children with disabilities, people with dangerous diseases or families facing difficulties in life.

Gifts may not be of great material value, but being given at the right time and to the right recipients has a lot of meaning. For children, it is joy during the Mid-Autumn Festival. For their parents, it is also sharing from the Trade Union organization where they are working.

Also from such activities, the role of grassroots trade unions is expressed in a specific way.

This is the level of Trade Union closest to union members, understands the circumstances of union members the most and also has the most favorable conditions to grasp cases that need support.

When grassroots trade unions are proactive, care can therefore reach the right people, the right needs, instead of just stopping at general programs.

That concern also creates more connection between workers and agencies, units, and businesses. A Mid-Autumn Festival program for workers' children, behind which is also the message that family life of union members is always concerned, from the most practical needs.

Caring for each family of union members

Not only in Hoi An Tay, many ward trade unions and grassroots trade unions in Da Nang are implementing Mid-Autumn Festival care activities on a fairly large scale.

Typically, the Cam Le Ward Trade Union coordinated with the People's Committee and the Ward Youth Union to organize the awarding of 294 gifts with a total value of 164.5 million VND to children of union members, workers, laborers and children in difficult circumstances in the area.

In Hoa Xuan ward, the ward Trade Union also presented 219 Mid-Autumn Festival gifts to children of union members and workers. Each gift is worth 300,000 VND, with a total budget of 65.7 million VND from the Trade Union's financial source.

More notably, along with the activities of the Ward Trade Union, grassroots trade unions in Hoa Xuan area have coordinated with units and businesses to present more than 6,000 Mid-Autumn Festival gifts to families and children of union members and workers.

The figure of more than 6,000 gifts shows that when the grassroots trade union joins in, the scope of care is expanded very quickly. A ward trade union can hardly directly grasp the full circumstances of thousands of union member families.

But each grassroots Trade Union at enterprises, schools, agencies, and units can clearly know which union members have young children, which families are in difficulty, and which cases need to be prioritized. The grassroots Trade Union network creates the ability to bring care policies to workers.

Therefore, the greatest value of Mid-Autumn Festival activities is the way the Trade Union organization is going through the grassroots Trade Union to take care of and become closer to the lives of union members.

From a gift for a child, a lion dance, a feast breaking night, or an exchange program between families, the connection between the Trade Union and workers is nurtured by specific actions.
