Da Nang - The City Labor Federation presented 60 "Union Shelters" to union members and workers facing housing difficulties in 2026.
News from the Da Nang City Labor Federation on January 2 said: In 2026, the City Labor Federation will provide support to build and repair 60 "Union Shelters" for union members and workers in the city facing housing difficulties.
The "Union Shelter" program is implemented from the Social Activity Fund of the Da Nang City Trade Union.
This fund is contributed by union members and workers, used to implement the "Union Shelter" Program; provide emergency allowances for union members and workers who have had work accidents, serious illnesses, natural disasters; support union members and workers' children with disabilities, carbon infections, children of union members who overcome difficulties to study well and perform other social activities.
The Social Activity Fund of the Da Nang City Trade Union has a Management Board and specific operating regulations.
"Union Shelter" is a program exclusively for union members, including building and repairing houses for union members in difficult circumstances.
The cost of building a new house is 50 million VND/house, the cost of repairing the house is 20 million VND/house.
In recent years, the program has brought clear results, many union members are very excited to have a roof to cover the sun and rain from the support of the City Labor Federation.
Mr. Le Van Dai - Permanent Vice President of the Da Nang City Labor Federation said: at the beginning of each year, the City Labor Federation will issue a plan and specific standards for grassroots unions to review, survey and consider choosing "Union Shelter" houses, and send documents to superiors.
From the proposal, the Management Board of the City Trade Union Social Activities Fund will establish teams to directly survey each member's application, from the actual location of the proposed house construction and repair to related documents.
The dossier ensuring the new standards was issued by the City Labor Federation to issue a decision to support the "Union Shelter" program.
According to Mr. Le Van Dai, 60 "Union Shelters" in 2026 is the beginning to complete the target of 300 "Union Shelters" for union members set by the 1st Da Nang City Trade Union Congress for the 2025-2030 term.
