Da Nang Trade Union will give 24,000 Tet gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances

News from the Da Nang City Labor Federation on December 31 said: On the occasion of the upcoming Lunar New Year, the City Labor Federation will give 24,000 Tet gifts, worth 24 billion VND to union members and workers.

Accordingly, beneficiaries are union members and workers at grassroots unions and grassroots unions under the City Labor Federation who are in difficult circumstances and have low incomes; have had work accidents, occupational diseases, serious illnesses; are affected and damaged by natural disasters, floods; have had their working hours reduced, lost their jobs, and are unpaid wages; union members and workers in policy families; workers who have not had the opportunity to return home for Tet for many years, workers who have not returned home to work, work, and produce during Tet...

For cases where union members and workers are in particular difficult, based on the proposal of the commune, ward or grassroots union, the City Labor Federation shall consider each specific case and implement the expenditure according to the regulations of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

The City Labor Federation has specifically planned and allocated more than 22,000 gifts to the Commune, Ward and Grassroots Trade Unions to conduct the selection and proposal for the City Labor Federation to support.

At the same time, reserve to give to especially difficult cases, cases of sudden difficulties. January 10, 2025 is the deadline for units to submit documents to the City Labor Federation.

After being approved, the City Labor Federation will allocate funding and units are required to complete the gift giving before February 9, 2026 (December 22 of the lunar calendar).

Mr. Le Van Dai - Permanent Vice President of the Da Nang City Labor Federation said: From the beginning of 2025 until now, on the occasion of holidays, Tet and Workers' Month, the trade union has proactively innovated and effectively maintained many "brand" programs such as "Tet Sum Vay", "Tet Union Market", "Union Shelter", "Worker Market", "Thank You Workers", "Union Bus", "Union train trip" "Union Meal" ... with a total care cost of more than 90 billion VND.

In particular, in the face of unfavorable developments in natural disasters and floods at the end of the year, the city's trade union has promptly visited and supported hundreds of union member families who suffered losses with a total amount of up to 43 billion VND.
