Trade union leads the women's movement into depth

Attending the conference were Ms. Thai Thu Xuong - Standing Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - along with representatives of leaders of the Ministry of Construction, Vietnam Construction Trade Union and a large number of union members and workers directly under the Vietnam Construction Trade Union.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Mr. Pham Hoai Phuong - Chairman of the Vietnam Construction Trade Union - said that by the end of 2025, the entire Construction industry had 34,876 female union members, accounting for 26.8% of the total number of union members in the entire industry. Not only increasing in quantity, the quality of the female workforce has also made clear progress, especially in the context of digital transformation and integration requirements.

The highlight in the past 5 years is that the Vietnam Construction Trade Union has moved the emulation movement away from formality, to depth, closely linked to professional tasks and production and business efficiency of each unit.

The emulation movement "Good at state affairs" has made strong progress, closely linked to professional tasks and the digital transformation roadmap of the industry. More than 1,130 technical innovation initiatives with a profit value of over 30 billion VND are clear proof of the intelligence, bravery and creative spirit of female workers. The proportion of women with university and postgraduate degrees has increased. Many female engineers and technical staff have mastered modern technologies such as BIM, digital management, contributing to improving productivity, quality and business efficiency.

Along with that, the "Taking care of housework" movement continues to be maintained and spread widely. Every year, over 92% of female union members achieve emulation titles. Over 95% of families achieve the title "Cultural Family". Despite facing the "double pressure" of work and family, female union members and workers still always maintain the role of wives and mothers, building a happy and progressive home.

Speaking at the conference, Ms. Thai Thu Xuong - Standing Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - praised and highly appreciated the outstanding results that the Vietnam Construction Trade Union has achieved in implementing the emulation movement "Good at work, good at home" in the recent period.

Standing Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Thai Thu Xuong requested the Vietnam Construction Trade Union to continue to innovate the content and methods of female labor activities in a practical direction, taking the rights and interests of female union members as the center. Linking the emulation movement with production and business tasks and digital transformation.

At the same time, improve the quality of dialogue and collective negotiation, focusing on specific policies for female workers in heavy and hazardous environments. Continue to improve working conditions, reproductive health care and spiritual life for female workers. Promote training and fostering to improve professional qualifications, professional skills, and digital skills for female workers. Continue to pay attention to discovering, fostering, and introducing outstanding female cadres to the Party and leadership and management positions.

Strongly develop models of women's worker clubs, strengthen the application of information technology in management and connecting union members. Ensure that all female union members, especially at remote construction sites, are cared for and supported in a timely manner. Continue to spread Vietnamese family values "warm, progressive, happy, civilized", helping female union members perform their roles well in the family and society.

Standing Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour Thai Thu Xuong affirmed: The Vietnam General Confederation of Labour will continue to coordinate with relevant ministries and sectors to research and propose to improve specific mechanisms and policies for female workers in the Construction industry. At the same time, create better conditions for union members and female workers to feel secure in their work and contribute for a long time.
