Da Nang Labor Union promotes its role as a representative and caregiver for workers

According to Ms. Phan Thi Thuy Linh - President of the Da Nang City Labor Federation, as of October 31, 2025, the Da Nang City Labor Federation manages 1,767 grassroots unions and grassroots unions with a total of 216,707 union members. Of which, there are 258 grassroots trade unions in industrial parks with more than 87,200 union members, showing the core role of the trade union organization in the production sector.

The work of representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers continues to be identified as a key task. During the year, trade unions at all levels organized legal consultations and dialogues for over 1,500 workers; supported the execution of judgments, filed lawsuits against more than 150 cases; participated in resolving disputes and complaints for dozens of cases and investigated 4 cases of work-related accidents.

The rate of enterprises organizing labor conferences reached 55%, the rate of dialogue at the workplace reached 80%. 86.9% of enterprises have signed collective labor agreements, of which 37% of agreements are classified as type B or higher. These results contribute to building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations in the city.

Activities to care for union members and workers continue to be widely, practically and effectively implemented. Through the programs "Tet Sum Vay", "Union Tet Market", "Workers' Month", "Union Shelter", "Union Meal", all levels of trade unions have supported union members and workers with a total budget of nearly 90 billion VND.

Faced with the impact of natural disasters and floods at the end of the year, the City Labor Federation promptly visited and supported union members and workers who suffered losses with a total amount of 43 billion VND, clearly demonstrating the role of the Trade Union organization in accompanying and sharing.

Affirming the role of representing, caring for, and protecting

According to Ms. Phan Thi Thuy Linh, propaganda and education work continues to be innovated in the direction of strongly applying digital technology. During the year, trade unions at all levels organized 50 direct propaganda classes for over 10,000 union members and workers; coordinated the implementation of 12 pages and 16 Labor and Trade Union sections on press agencies.

At the same time, 74 "Self-managed workers' groups in boarding houses" with nearly 15,000 workers participating continue to be maintained, promoted effectively and is assessed by the Da Nang City Party Committee as a typical model of "Skilled mass mobilization".

The patriotic emulation movement among workers, civil servants and laborers is developing vigorously. Many collectives and individuals have been awarded at all levels, including the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor awarding 4 Emulation Flags, 29 Certificates of Merit; the Standing Committee of the City Labor Federation awarded 21 Emulation Flags and more than 200 Certificates of Merit.

Union member development work achieved outstanding results with 112 newly established grassroots unions, admitting 50,017 union members; the actual increase was 45,506 union members, reaching 102.2% of the assigned target.

Entering 2026, Da Nang City Trade Unions at all levels will focus on effectively implementing the Resolution of the 1st City Trade Union Congress, term 2025-2030. The focus is to continue to affirm the role of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers.

Trade unions at all levels focus on improving the quality of collective bargaining and dialogue at the workplace; strengthening supervision of the implementation of labor laws, social insurance, and occupational safety and hygiene; promptly participating in dispute resolution, preventing collective work stoppages, contributing to building harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations.

At the same time, social security and care work continues to be promoted, focusing on union members and workers in difficult circumstances, affected by natural disasters, epidemics or job loss. The programs "Tet Sum Vay", "Worker's Month", "Union Shelter", "Union Meal" continue to be maintained and improved in effectiveness.

The City Trade Union also focuses on developing union members, establishing grassroots unions, building a team of union officials to meet the requirements in the new period; promoting patriotic emulation movements, arousing the sense of responsibility and creativity of union members and workers, contributing to the successful implementation of the city's socio-economic development tasks.
