Three breakthrough tasks of the Da Nang Trade Union in 2026

Focus on taking care of Tet

Informing about the key orientation for 2026, Ms. Phan Thi Thuy Linh - President of the Da Nang City Labor Federation said that the city's trade unions at all levels will focus on implementing three breakthrough tasks.

Firstly, the Da Nang Trade Union continues to perform well its function of representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers. The focus is on promoting dialogue and collective bargaining on wages, bonuses, working hours, occupational safety and hygiene, and the quality of shift meals.

At the same time, effectively organize activities to care for the lives, jobs, and income of workers in the spirit of the direction of General Secretary To Lam.

In the immediate future, trade unions at all levels will focus on organizing activities to care for the Lunar New Year of Binh Ngo 2026 with the theme "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Deng".

Many practical programs will be implemented such as "Union Tet Market" in industrial parks, supporting shopping vouchers for workers; giving gifts to union members in difficult circumstances; organizing train and union car trips to take thousands of workers home to celebrate Tet; organizing "Union Year's Meal" and activities "Tet not far from home" for workers who do not have the conditions to return home.

Our point of view is that all union members and workers must be cared for and cared for to celebrate a warm and safe Tet, Ms. Linh affirmed.

Second is to promote the development of union members and the establishment of grassroots unions, especially in the non-state enterprise and informal labor sector.

According to the Chairman of the Da Nang City Labor Federation, the current figures on enterprises without trade unions and informal workers require strong innovation in methods of mobilization, strengthening the role of trade unions at the commune and ward levels, and at the same time taking advantage of the leadership of local Party committees and authorities.

Third is to promote comprehensive digital transformation in the trade union system. Trade unions at all levels will strongly apply digital technology in propaganda, union member management, financial management and welfare service provision; at the same time, deploy the "Da Nang Trade Union App" to quickly and conveniently connect the union organization with union members and workers.

Bringing the emulation movement into practice

According to Ms. Phan Thi Thuy Linh, 2026 is of special significance as it is the first year of implementing the Resolution of the 1st Da Nang City Trade Union Congress, term 2025-2030.

At the same time, many major political events of the country such as the 14th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the 14th National Congress of the Party and the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly, People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term took place.

This is the time for trade unions at all levels to clearly demonstrate their role in representing, caring for and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers; at the same time, innovating methods to meet the requirements in the new situation, Ms. Linh emphasized.

In particular, the Chairman of the Da Nang City Labor Federation affirmed the determination of trade unions at all levels in promoting the patriotic emulation movement, focusing on the movement "Good workers, Creative workers", promoting initiatives, improving techniques, and rationalizing production.

Along with that, the city's trade union will continue to coordinate to launch a movement to compete with enterprises to take good care of workers' lives, and propose the City People's Committee to honor and reward typical enterprises in 2026.

"We hope to continue to receive the attention and support of the city's leaders and the business community to help the trade union organization fulfill its role and tasks, contributing to building Da Nang city to develop sustainably and have an increasingly high quality of life," said Ms. Phan Thi Thuy Linh.
