Prime Minister Le Minh Hung successfully concluded his working trip to attend the 18th BRICS Summit and bilateral working sessions in India.

On the evening of September 13, Politburo Member, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and the high-level Vietnamese delegation arrived in Hanoi, successfully concluding their working trip to attend the 18th BRICS Summit and bilateral working sessions in India from September 12-13, 2026 at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, according to the Government Information and Communications Department.

This is one of Vietnam's important high-level multilateral foreign affairs activities in 2026, an important step in implementing the foreign policy of the XIV Congress and the Politburo's Resolution on international integration in the new situation, especially the policy of promoting and raising the level of multilateral foreign affairs.

With an urgent, dynamic, and substantive working program, the working trip achieved many important results in both multilateral and bilateral aspects, continuing to affirm the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization, and diversification; and at the same time showing Vietnam's determination to actively and responsibly participate in solving common regional and international issues, contributing to peace, friendship, cooperation, development and effectively taking advantage of external resources to serve national development.

Through activities during the working trip, the Vietnamese delegation made many practical contributions at the 18th BRICS Summit. Prime Minister Le Minh Hung's speech at the BRICS Summit was welcomed and highly appreciated by the host country India and leaders of countries attending the Summit. The Prime Minister's proposals closely followed the theme and priorities of BRICS in 2026, and accurately reflected the development needs of developing countries in the current context, as well as being in line with the needs and priorities of Vietnam in the new development stage.

The working trip also contributed to deepening the relationship between Vietnam and member countries, BRICS partner countries and international organizations. Through many meetings and contacts with leaders of countries, international organizations, and large corporations in less than two days, the Prime Minister frankly and substantively exchanged views on issues of common concern; strengthened understanding, trust and mutual support; and opened up more cooperation opportunities in various fields.

In particular, the working trip created new momentum and impulse for Vietnam-India relations, continued to concretize the agreements in the State visit to India by General Secretary and President To Lam in May 2026, and deployed the contents of the strengthened Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries with the motto "sharing vision, strategic convergence, substantive cooperation".
