In the context of strong digital transformation, cyberspace has become an essential environment for learning, working, communicating and economic development.
However, along with the great benefits, cyber attacks, online fraud, personal data theft, dissemination of malicious and toxic information, fake news and high-tech crimes are also becoming increasingly sophisticated, directly affecting security, order and legitimate rights and interests of agencies, organizations, businesses and people.
Taking August 6th as the annual Network Security Day is a strategic step to make network security assurance a regular task of the whole society.
Through activities in response to Vietnam Cyber Security Day, awareness of cyber security is spread more widely; people are equipped with skills to protect personal data, businesses enhance their responsibility to protect information systems, and state agencies strengthen coordination in protecting digital infrastructure and important information systems.
Responding to Vietnam Cyber Security Day 2026, many propaganda, training, drills and knowledge dissemination activities on cyber security continue to be implemented at agencies, units, schools and localities. This is an opportunity to spread civilized behavior culture, raise awareness of law compliance and promote the responsibility of each organization and individual in building a safe and healthy network environment.
On September 20, 2024, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 1013/QD-TTg taking August 6 every year as Vietnam Cyber Security Day.
Vietnam Cyber Security Day is held annually to accelerate the progress of implementing national cyber security tasks; raise public awareness of the role, meaning and benefits of cyber security; and at the same time promote the participation of the entire political system, synchronous actions at all levels and the participation of the entire people to ensure the effective operation of cyber security assurance work.
