Phu Tho sets a target of 100% of the population participating in health insurance by 2030
Phu Tho - Social insurance units are proactively going down to villages and hamlets to propagate people to participate in health insurance (HI).

At the end of August, Lac Son grassroots social insurance went down to Moi village, Muong Vang commune to propagate about health insurance.
Moi hamlet currently has 100% of the population being Muong people, and life is still difficult. Mr. Bui Van Nhien, Deputy Director of Lac Son Grassroots Social Insurance, said that to help people here understand health insurance correctly, insurance officers must provide visual guidance, linking policies with everyday stories.

In Quang Yen commune, health insurance participation results are still quite modest. Currently, there are 12,905/14,318 health insurance participants, reaching 90.13%, 4.87 percentage points lower than the target of 95% in 2026.
To narrow this gap, local authorities require officials to review each household and specifically identify people who do not have cards.

On August 24, 2026, Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee issued a Decision assigning HI coverage targets to communes and wards in the province for the period 2026-2030.
The goal is that by 2030, the entire province will have 100% of the population participating in health insurance.
According to the roadmap, the health insurance coverage rate of the whole province strives to reach 95.4% in 2026; 96.4% in 2027; 97.4% in 2028; 98.4% in 2029 and 100% by 2030.
According to the decision of the Provincial People's Committee, communes and wards must include health insurance targets in annual resolutions and socio-economic development programs.
Along with that is mobilizing resources to support people in difficult circumstances, strengthening communication and creating favorable conditions for registration and card renewal.
