Opening of Trade Union professional development class for Lao officials
On September 14, the Hanoi Labor Federation organized the Opening Ceremony of the Training Class on theoretical and professional trade union work for Lao officials.
The opening ceremony of the Trade Union Theory and Professional Training Class was organized for delegates who are key officials of the Vientiane Capital Trade Union Federation, Vientiane province and Luang Prabang province (Laos).
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Thang - Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairman of the Hanoi Labor Federation, said that with the long-standing tradition of friendly relations between Laos and Vietnam, for many years, the Hanoi Labor Federation and the Vientiane Capital Trade Union Union have had a close brotherly solidarity relationship.
The two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding and annually rotate high-level delegations to visit, work and exchange experiences on Trade Union work to improve the quality of caring for and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers.
In 2026, continue to implement the Memorandum of Understanding signed on August 14, 2022 between leaders of the Capital Trade Unions of the two countries; the Hanoi Labor Federation in coordination with the Trade Union University opened a Professional Theory Training Course on Trade Union Work for 24 delegates who are key trade union officials of the Vientiane City Trade Union Federation, Vientiane Province and Luang Prabang Province.

The training program takes place from September 11, 2026 to October 25, 2026 in Hanoi Capital.
Within the framework of this Training Class program, delegates will study basic issues on the Labor Law, Trade Union Law; the nature, position, role, functions, and tasks of the Vietnam Trade Union; trade union work skills; exchange and practical exchange.
In addition to studying, discussing, and exchanging experiences in class, students also experience and research at Commune and Ward Trade Unions, Trade Unions of High-Tech Parks and Industrial Parks in Hanoi Capital and some Provincial and City Labor Federations such as: Ninh Binh, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh...
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Anousone Onsavath - Counselor of the Lao Embassy in Vietnam affirmed that the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and strategic cohesion between Vietnam and Laos are invaluable assets that generations of leaders and people of the two countries have painstakingly cultivated.
In that relationship, cooperation between trade union organizations of the two countries is of great significance, contributing to protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers and promoting socio-economic development.
He assessed that the Hanoi Labor Federation's coordination with the Trade Union University to organize the training class is a practical activity, contributing to improving knowledge, skills and professional skills for the Lao Trade Union officials, while also showing solidarity, attachment and support between trade union organizations of the two countries.
Mr. Anousone Onsavath wished that the trainees would actively learn and absorb knowledge and experience from Vietnamese lecturers and experts to effectively apply to practical work in the locality; and at the same time continue to promote the role of a bridge, contributing to fostering the traditional friendly relationship between Vietnam and Laos to become increasingly strong.
Ms. Khotamine Phongyalac - Chairwoman of the Vientiane Capital Trade Union (Laos) emphasized that the training class is a practical activity to continue to effectively implement the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Vientiane Capital Trade Union Federation and the Hanoi City Labor Federation for the period 2022-2027; and at the same time strengthen experience exchange, improve the capacity of officials and contribute to well performing the function of representing and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers.
Ms. Khotamine Phongyalac expressed her wish that the two sides continue to consolidate and deepen the cooperative relationship between the trade union organizations of the two Capitals, thereby contributing to fostering the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos to become increasingly strong.
