Hue sets a goal to be among the top 5 localities in the country in the Provincial Tourism Development Index by 2030.
On June 17, Hue City Department of Tourism said that the City People's Committee has just issued a plan to improve the Provincial Tourism Development Index of Vietnam (VTDI) for the period 2026 - 2030, with the goal of bringing Hue into the top 5 localities in the country in terms of this index.
According to the VTDI 2024 assessment results, Hue achieved 4.25 points, ranking 9th among 30 provinces and cities surveyed, in the group of 10 localities with the highest tourism development capacity in the country. The city is highly appreciated thanks to its advantages in cultural heritage, green environment, safety and destination quality.
By 2030, Hue aims to achieve 4.5 VTDI points or more, and at the same time continue to promote strengths in cultural resources, tourism environment, transport infrastructure, destination safety and develop green and sustainable tourism.
According to the plan, the city will focus on improving the quality of tourism human resources, promoting digital transformation, completing the tourism data system, diversifying products and improving the competitiveness of destinations.
Improving the VTDI Index is identified as one of the important solutions to realize the goal of making tourism a key economic sector, building Hue into an attractive, safe, friendly, culturally rich destination and a unique tourism center of Vietnam.
In the coming time, Hue will continue to invest in improving service quality, developing unique tourism products, aiming to build the image of a modern, friendly and sustainable heritage city, attracting more and more domestic and international tourists.
