Suggesting 5 basic solutions to build Thuong Phuoc into a model border urban area
Dong Thap - Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia proposed 5 solutions to build Thuong Phuoc commune into a model border urban area.
On August 7, Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission - attended the 1st Congress of the Party Committee of Thuong Phuoc Commune (Dong Thap Province) for the 2025-2030 term.
Also attending were Mr. Ngo Dong Hai - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Mr. Le Quoc Phong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Dong Thap province, Mr. Tran Tri Quang - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province, along with representatives of central departments, branches, provinces and localities and 250 delegates representing more than 1,300 Party members active in the area.
Speaking at the Congress, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized that Thuong Phuoc commune was established on the basis of merging Thuong Phuoc 1 commune, Thuong Phuoc 2 commune and Thuong Thoi Tien town, with a strategic position in terms of national defense, security and economy at the border with Cambodia, 7,237m long, directly connecting to the Thuong Phuoc - Co-ro-ca international border gate. This is one of the three border gate economic zones of Dong Thap province and is the only area with both roads and international waterways, an important socio-economic area, identified as the "northwest gateway" of the Mekong Delta.
With a strategic position and a strong revolutionary tradition, with the spirit of Solidarity - Discipline - Innovation - Aspiration - Development, believe that the Party Committee, government and people of Thuong Phuoc commune are united, join hands, unite, promote the heroic tradition, overcome difficulties, seize opportunities, and successfully implement the goals set out in the Resolution of the 1st Congress, term 2025-2030. Determined to turn Thuong Phuoc commune into a model border urban area of Dong Thap province and the Mekong Delta region", Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized.
To achieve this goal, the Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission suggested 5 basic solutions:
First, continue to strengthen the building of a truly clean and strong Party and political system; resolutely and persistently fight against corruption, waste, negativity, degradation in political ideology, ethics, lifestyle, self-evolution and self-transformation manifestations.
Second, strengthen and promote the role of the people. Identify the people as the subject of activities to move towards building a "friendly, professional government serving the people and businesses".
Third, clearly identify potential and comparative advantages... On that basis, propose tasks, solutions, and breakthroughs that are feasible and practical to fully exploit the potential and advantages to both seek support from the province and attract investment resources for urban and border development, promote trade, services, and the border economy. Gradually integrate more deeply with the Mekong Delta and Cambodia.
Fourth, continue to effectively implement patriotic emulation movements; comprehensively care for culture and society to build Thuong Phuoc People of Loyalty - Dynamism - Creativity.
Fifth, strengthen national defense and security to meet the requirements and tasks of protecting the Fatherland in the new situation.
On this occasion, Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia and the leaders of Dong Thap province presented flowers to congratulate Mr. Le Hung Dung - Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the People's Council of Thuong Phuoc Commune - on his appointment as Secretary of the Party Committee of Thuong Phuoc Commune for the 2025-2030 term.
The 1st Congress of the Thuong Phuoc Commune Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term has set 11 targets including: 1- Building Thuong Phuoc commune to meet advanced new rural standards; 2- Striving for annual economic growth of 8.5%; average income per capita by 2030 to reach 120 million VND; 3- State budget revenue in the area to reach the above assigned target every year; 4- Striving to have no more poor households according to the multidimensional poverty standard by 2030 - 2025; 5- The rate of trained workers reaches 85%, of which the rate of trained workers reaches 65%; sending workers to work abroad for a period of time each year reaches the above target; 6- The rate of increasing the natural population per year is below 1%; 7- The rate of people participating in health insurance is above 98%; 8- The rate of households participating in collecting social insurance is above 98%; 8- The rate of people participating in collecting social insurance is above 85%; the rate of people participating in collecting socialist work is below the rate of 100%; the rate of people participating in the Party organization is not below the rate of the Party organization of the commune is above the rate of the Party organization of the commune is 100%; the rate of people participating in the Party organization of the commune is not less than 10%; the rate of people participating in the Party organization of the commune is below the Party organization of the commune is not less than 10%; the rate of the Party organization of the People's organization of the commune is below the People's organization of the People's Committee.
