VƯƠNG TRẦN (báo lao động) 10/07/2026 16:34 (GMT+7)

In the afternoon of July 9 (local time), the Vietnamese delegation left La Guaira state to return home, ending their activities to participate in overcoming the consequences of the earthquake in Venezuela.

Right before leaving for the country, the delegation donated medical equipment, medicine, food, tents..., and raised 15,000 USD to support the Venezuelan people to overcome the consequences of natural disasters.

Mr. Daniel Gasparri - representative of the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs in charge of international relief delegations - expressed his gratitude to Vietnam, even though it is half a world away, for sending forces and sending aid to help the Government and people of Venezuela overcome the consequences of natural disasters; emphasizing that Vietnam's support is very timely and necessary in the current difficulties of Venezuela. Mr. Daniel Gasparri also thanked the kindness of the members of the Vietnamese delegation in particular for Venezuela.

The Vietnamese delegation participating in overcoming the consequences of the earthquake in Venezuela has 124 members, including the Army and Police forces. This is the 3rd time Vietnam has sent forces and vehicles abroad to carry out humanitarian assistance and disaster relief missions. Among these, many comrades have participated in supporting the Government and people of Turkey and Myanmar to overcome the earthquake disaster in 2023 and 2025.

The area where the delegation is on duty in Venezuela is Playa Grande in La Guaira state - the most severely damaged locality, with many high-rise buildings located on the slopes, seriously collapsing after the double earthquake disaster.

During their mission in Venezuela, the Vietnamese delegation found and removed dozens of victims' bodies from the rubble, and coordinated to find and hand over to the Venezuelan side many suspected victim locations, contributing to easing the immense pain of the country and the Venezuelan people. Along with that, the delegation also conducted medical examinations, provided free medicine, gave gifts, and supported local people in moving property.

Recognizing and honoring the outstanding contributions of the Vietnamese delegation, the Venezuelan side awarded the "Venezuelan Hero" First Class Medal to the collective, the "Venezuelan Hero" Second Class Medal to all 124 members, and the "Service Merit" Medal to the delegation's nghiệp vụ dog team.

The presence of the Vietnamese delegation and international rescue teams, as affirmed by Venezuelan interim President Delcy Rodríguez, has brought great hope to the local people, showing that the South American nation is not alone in the fight to overcome the consequences of natural disasters.

The task performance results achieved by the delegation have contributed to showing the tradition of mutual affection, "loving others as loving oneself" of the nation, the spirit of Vietnam as a friend, reliable partner, active and responsible member in the international community as well as affirming the good relationship between Vietnam and Venezuela.
