However, Can Tho is facing challenges when the GRDP growth rate in the first 6 months of the year reached 6.7%, lower than the proposed scenario. The industrial, construction, and service sectors have not met expectations, and the progress of public investment disbursement and unlocking development resources still has bottlenecks.
According to the People's Council of Can Tho City, this session is not only aimed at considering and deciding on contents according to state management requirements, but also has important significance in concretizing the Party's guidelines, policies, and laws of the State into practical and feasible decisions.
Accordingly, at the meeting, policies related to public investment will be considered, especially the investment policy for the Western Ring Road project of Can Tho City (connecting National Highway 91 to National Highway 80); considering assigning Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee as the competent authority to study and implement the Project to invest in the construction of the Ho Chi Minh City - Long An - Tien Giang - Ben Tre - Tra Vinh - Soc Trang expressway in the public-private partnership method.
These are important resolutions, aimed at developing the transportation network, improving the efficiency of using public investment capital, and creating more room for infrastructure development.
