It will be proposed that kindergarten teachers retiring at the age of 55 still enjoy full benefits
Da Nang - Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Anh Tuan will propose that preschool teachers be allowed to retire at the age of 55 or 60 and be fully guaranteed retirement benefits.
Need to consider the specific hardships of preschool teachers
On October 12, at a meeting with voters in Tam Xuan commune, Da Nang city before the 2nd session of the 16th National Assembly, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - expressed his views on the retirement age of preschool teachers.
The issue raised from the petition of Ms. Tran Thi Lien - Principal of Tam Xuan Kindergarten - related to the regime, policies and retirement age for preschool teachers.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan said that raising the retirement age stems from many requirements, including ensuring long-term balance of the Social Insurance Fund and taking advantage of human resources in the context of a golden population.
However, if only raising the retirement age without considering the nature, working conditions and the level of hardship of each profession, inadequacies will arise.
Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan raised the issue: A 60-year-old teacher who has to take care of about 40 young children, from feeding, organizing fun to singing, exercising all day will be very difficult to meet the job requirements.

According to him, although life expectancy and living conditions are increasingly improved, not every profession is suitable for extending working hours equally.
In particular, kindergarten teachers are jobs that require health, endurance and continuous care for children. Therefore, the retirement age policy needs to take into account the specific nature of the profession, instead of rigidly applying it.
Proposal to be able to choose to retire at age 55 or 60
From the above reality, the President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor said that he will propose to study a mechanism to allow preschool teachers to proactively choose the time to retire. Teachers who are still healthy, love their profession and have the conditions to continue working can work until the age of 60. Conversely, people who no longer meet job requirements can choose to retire at the age of 55.
He said he would propose that preschool teachers who choose to retire at the age of 55 still fully enjoy pension and social insurance benefits as in the case of retiring at the right age, instead of being considered early retirement.

This is a policy proposal to create flexibility, ensure the rights of teachers, and at the same time consider the specific pressures in the childcare profession.
Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan said that the issue of the retirement age of preschool teachers has been discussed in the National Assembly.
From voters' recommendations, he will continue to record and study to give opinions in the process of amending the Labor Code and legal regulations related to the field of education.
Also at the conference, the Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor exchanged many issues related to the regime for officials after the arrangement of the apparatus, the work pressure of the commune-level government and inadequacies in resolving land procedures.
He affirmed that the Delegation of National Assembly Deputies of Da Nang City will summarize the legitimate recommendations of voters and forward them to the National Assembly and competent agencies for consideration and resolution.
