Establishment of grassroots trade union with 193 union members in the garment industry in Lam Dong

On May 24, Ms. Tran Thi Thu Van - Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Ham Liem commune (Lam Dong province) said that she had organized the announcement of the decision to establish the grassroots Trade Union of KOG Garment Co., Ltd.

The grassroots trade union was established with 193 union members. This is a business operating in the garment sector, headquartered along National Highway 28 through Ham Liem commune.

Previously, through the working process and mobilization of the Provincial Labor Federation, the enterprise agreed to establish a trade union organization at the unit. Workers also voluntarily participated, contributing to the formation of an official representative organization in the enterprise.

At the announcement ceremony, representatives of the Lam Dong Provincial Labor Federation presented the decision to establish the grassroots Trade Union of KOG Garment Co., Ltd.

At the same time, announcing the decision to appoint the Provisional Executive Committee of the grassroots Trade Union consisting of 3 people. In which, Ms. Dong Kim Lieu was appointed to hold the position of Chairwoman of the grassroots Trade Union.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Doan Van Su - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial Labor Federation emphasized that the establishment of trade union organizations at enterprises is an inevitable requirement.

This is the basis for representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers; and at the same time contributing to building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations in enterprises.

Mr. Su requested the Executive Committee of the grassroots Trade Union to soon stabilize the organization, build operating regulations, and assign specific tasks to each member.

In addition, it is necessary to promote the spirit of responsibility, proactively coordinate with business leaders to better care for the material and spiritual life of union members and workers; promptly grasp thoughts, aspirations and solve arising problems.

The establishment of the grassroots Trade Union of KOG Garment Co., Ltd. along with the admission of a large number of workers has contributed to expanding the trade union network in the province.

Thereby, improving the effectiveness of trade union activities, strengthening the representative role of trade union organizations in the business sector, towards building a stable and sustainable working environment.
