Continue to strengthen practical and effective cooperation for union members and workers
Hanoi - In the afternoon of April 13, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and the Mongolian General Confederation of Labour held high-level talks, in which it was determined to strengthen cooperation for union members and workers.
The high-level talks took place under the chairmanship of Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) and Mr. Enkhbaatar TAMIR, Chairman of the Mongolian General Confederation of Labour (CMTU).
Also attending the talks were Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour Huynh Thanh Xuan, leaders of departments and units of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and members of the CMTU delegation who are visiting and working in Vietnam.



Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Chairman of the VGCL affirmed that the visit to Vietnam by the CMTU delegation this time is of special significance, marking the 20-year journey of the VGCL and CMTU establishing solidarity and friendship relations since 2006.
In the past two decades of cooperation, the trade unions of the two countries have implemented many high-level delegation exchanges, sharing many useful information and experiences on trade union activities, contributing to better performing the task of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers.
At the talks, VGCL President Nguyen Anh Tuan informed the CMTU delegation about the situation of Trade Union activities and the workers' movement. In which, VGCL is actively innovating its organization and operating methods, implementing arrangement and streamlining of the apparatus, improving efficiency, effectiveness, and efficiency, meeting the requirements of representing, caring for and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers in the context of increasingly deep international integration.
It is expected that the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union for the term 2026 - 2031 will take place at the end of May 2026 with priorities identified in the new term. In which, promoting dialogue and collective negotiation, focusing on salaries, bonus regimes, working hours, rest hours, improving working conditions, and occupational safety and health.
Promoting innovation, strongly applying digital transformation in trade union activities, especially in financial work, union member management, and providing trade union welfare services.
Invest resources, create breakthroughs in union member development, establish grassroots-level trade unions in enterprises outside the state sector and the informal labor sector; pay attention to training and fostering, improving the quality of grassroots trade union officials, especially grassroots trade union presidents. Expand friendly cooperative relations with partners, in which CMTU is always identified as a close and important partner of the General Confederation.
According to Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, the VGCL highly appreciates the friendly and good cooperation relationship between the VGCL and CMTU. The two sides have many similarities in core values, together aiming for the goal of protecting workers, promoting social dialogue, social justice, sustainable employment and development for people. This is an important foundation for the two organizations to continue to strengthen practical and effective cooperation in the coming time.
On this occasion, the VGCL proposed that the two sides continue to expand cooperation in the following directions: Continue to maintain delegation exchanges, contacts with leaders; share information and experiences on trade union activities, focusing on developing union members in the informal labor force and labor on technology platforms; collective bargaining and social dialogue; salary policies; social security; and promote the role of trade unions in tripartite mechanisms.
Encourage and create favorable conditions to establish bilateral cooperation relations between industry trade unions of the two countries, especially in the fields of education, agriculture, mining, in accordance with the strengths and common concerns of the two sides, as well as between units such as Vietnam Trade Union University and Mongolian Labor University.
Strengthen mutual consultation; coordinate and support each other at regional and international trade union forums, jointly promote values of peace, solidarity, social justice and sustainable development.

Exchanging at the talks, Mr. Enkhbaatar TAMIR - Chairman of CMTU affirmed his desire to strengthen deeper and wider cooperation with the VGCL. During this visit, CMTU wants to learn from experience in the organization and implementation of activities of the Vietnam Trade Union; find areas where the two sides can cooperate more deeply.
CMTU Chairman said that in addition to the task of protecting workers and people, CMTU also protects foreign workers in Mongolia. Currently, there are many Vietnamese citizens living and working in Mongolia, so Mr. Enkhbaatar TAMIR hopes that the two sides will discuss in more depth the protection of Vietnamese citizens living and working in Mongolia. In addition, CMTU also pays attention to and exchanges views on protecting vulnerable workers in the informal sector; the possibility of cooperation and experience exchange between industry trade unions of the two organizations...
