The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor works with the German Social Democratic Party Delegation
Hanoi - On the afternoon of October 28, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor worked with the German Social Democratic Party Delegation. The issue of concern to both sides is dialogue and negotiation.
The working session took place in the presence of Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of the Fatherland Front Party Committee, Central organizations, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Party Secretary, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) and Mr. Achim Post - Vice President of the Social Democratic Federation of Germany (SPD), co-chairman of SPD in North Rhine-Westphalia - Head of the delegation; Mr. Bernd Lange, Co-head of the delegation, Chairman of the International Trade Committee (INTA) of the European Parliament, Chairman of the Conference of Chairmen of the European Parliament's Committees (CCC).

Also attending the meeting were Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and leaders of departments of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
At the meeting, on behalf of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor leaders, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang respectfully welcomed the delegation to visit and work in Vietnam, within the framework of the 10th Dialogue between the SPD and the Communist Party of Vietnam.
This is an activity of special significance, taking place on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Federal Republic of Germany (1975 - 2025), and also the 35th anniversary of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Institute (FES Institute) officially operating in Vietnam.
In the discussion, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang said that, implementing the major policies of the Party and State on streamlining the apparatus and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the political system, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has also proactively implemented the work of arranging, perfecting the organization and streamlining focal points in the Trade Union system, ensuring streamlining, flexibility, and effective operation, in line with new development requirements.
Accordingly, the current Vietnam Trade Union system is organized at 3 levels: At the central level, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. The level directly under the General Confederation includes 34 provincial and municipal labor federations and 17 central industry unions and general companies. Directly associated with and representing union members and workers are more than 63,000 grassroots unions at enterprises, agencies and units. Currently, the Vietnam Trade Union organization has about 10 million union members.
Information at the meeting said that there is a close relationship between the Party and the Trade Union in the SPD, in which the protection of workers' rights is focused on.

Some issues that both sides are interested in discussing are dialogue and negotiation contents to be included in the collective labor agreement. On this occasion, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang expressed his hope that the two sides would continue to cooperate closely, especially in building Trade Union capacity in collective bargaining, social dialogue, social security and gender equality.
