Quang Ngai improves meal quality for workers
Overtime meals are considered the "key" to improving health, spirit and labor productivity, and are being focused on by Quang Ngai in Workers' Month 2026.
Quang Ngai currently has more than 96,000 workers, of which more than 91,000 are trade union members, working day and night, making important contributions to the socio-economic development of the province.
With more than 7,000 operating businesses, the need to care for workers' lives becomes urgent, especially in the context of high work intensity and increasingly strict product quality requirements. Promoting the role of a bridge, the Trade Union organization in Quang Ngai has proactively negotiated with businesses to improve meals for workers. This activity will be strengthened during Workers' Month.

Mr. Do Van Hanh - Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union of Hoya Lens Vietnam Co., Ltd. - Quang Ngai Branch informed that the trade union always listens to and receives contributions from workers to maintain and improve the quality of meals. For example, the "Happy Wednesday" activity is organized weekly with the addition of food and drinks for workers. On holidays, Tet, and Christmas, workers also enjoy special meals. The shift meal menu is also built flexibly, including main dishes, side dishes, and desserts, suitable for the taste of workers from many regions.

At Sumida Quang Ngai Co., Ltd. (Tinh Phong Industrial Park), the collective kitchen is strictly controlled, serving more than 1,100 workers every day. Mr. Vo Trung Quoc - a worker at Sumida Quang Ngai Co., Ltd. - shared: "I have worked at the company for 7 years and have not recorded any incidents related to food safety. A palatable meal is also one of the factors that helps employees stick with the company for a long time.
Ms. Bui Thi Tham - Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Sumida Quang Ngai Co., Ltd. - affirmed: "We regularly monitor the quality of meals, and at the same time record workers' opinions through suggestion boxes to promptly exchange with employers, thereby improving the quality of meals for union members.
Workers' Month 2026 in Quang Ngai is implemented from May 1st to May 31st, in which improving the quality of lunch meals is identified as one of the important contents.
According to Mr. Dinh Quoc Tuan - Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial Labor Federation, the trade union continues to promote its role as a bridge, contributing to improving the quality of meals for union members and workers. Many practical activities will also be implemented such as organizing medical examinations, health consultations, and free medicine distribution for 600 workers and laborers; giving gifts to 330 union members and laborers in difficult circumstances, suffering from serious illnesses, labor accidents or occupational diseases.
