Standing Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor visits workers at the Trade Union social housing project

Reporting to the working delegation, Mr. Phan Dang Nguyen - Deputy General Director of Corporation 789 (Ministry of National Defense) said that the project currently has 151 personnel, of which 125 workers directly construct. The unit has arranged a rest area for workers far away, and the surrounding area has eateries to meet daily living needs.

According to Mr. Nguyen, fuel price fluctuations in the past time have caused the value of the package to increase by about 25 - 35% compared to the time of signing, causing many difficulties for contractors. Up to now, the project progress has reached about 23% compared to the plan. The unit proposed that the General Confederation consider adjusting the contract according to regulations to ensure costs and maintain construction.

At the visit, Ms. Thai Thu Xuong - Standing Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor visited and inquired about living and working conditions, and the organization of overtime and shift increases to ensure progress. She emphasized the requirement for the construction unit to pay attention to labor safety and ensure a working environment for workers.

She also requested the Provincial Labor Federation and local authorities to closely monitor the salary and bonus situation of workers to promptly coordinate with the construction unit. Request the locality to continue to coordinate and create favorable conditions for the construction unit to complete the project on schedule.

For contractors, it is necessary to ensure environmental sanitation, strengthen labor safety and traffic safety propaganda, and limit the situation of using alcohol and beer after work hours.

Regarding the proposal to adjust the value of the bidding package, she received it and assigned the Trade Union Project Management Board to consider and advise the Presidium of the General Confederation to decide.
