Improving skills for grassroots trade union members in the tourism industry in Lam Dong

On the afternoon of April 21, Ms. Dao Thi Ha Ny - Chairwoman of Tien Thanh Ward Trade Union (Lam Dong province) said that the unit has chaired and coordinated with the Ward Police and Ham Thang Basic Social Insurance to organize a propaganda program to improve skills for nearly 150 union members and workers.

Participating union members come from 2 grassroots trade unions in the tourism sector directly under the Tien Thanh Ward Trade Union, including Nova Golf Club Co., Ltd. and Nova Hotel & Resort World JSC.

At the program, union members and workers were updated on sophisticated scams in cyberspace, especially through social networks. The content focused on identifying methods of forgery and appropriation of property, thereby helping workers proactively prevent them.

In addition, the Ward Police also propagate and emphasize the compliance with the law and maintaining security and order in enterprises. Basic skills in fire prevention and fighting in the working environment are specifically guided, contributing to improving the ability to handle situations when incidents occur.

At the same time, union members are also disseminated new points of the 2024 Law on Social Insurance and Health Insurance. The rights and obligations when participating in insurance are clearly explained, helping workers understand correctly and feel secure in long-term commitment.

In the exchange, many union members directly asked questions related to insurance regimes, benefits when participating, as well as actual situations arising. Representatives of coordinating units answered specifically, creating interaction and consensus.

Organizing skills improvement programs at the grassroots level is considered a practical solution, helping union members and workers adapt to a modern, safe and sustainable working environment.

According to the Lam Dong Provincial Labor Federation, in Workers' Month 2026, trade union levels in the province will implement many activities towards grassroots levels. Prominent are the "May Dialogue", "Thank you workers" programs and the 1st Lam Dong Provincial Workers, Civil Servants, and Laborers Sports Festival in 2026.

This year's activities are associated with the goal of promoting innovation, promoting digital initiatives, and improving labor productivity. At the same time, trade union levels focus on developing union members, establishing grassroots trade unions and introducing the development of party members among workers.
