Strengthening health care and disease prevention for workers

On April 15, the Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation said that in response to Workers' Month, many health care programs for workers have been implemented with the participation of trade unions at all levels, businesses and the health sector.

Implementing the plan of the People's Committee of Nghe An province, trade union levels have coordinated with the health sector and businesses to organize many practical activities such as free health check-ups, nutritional counseling, disease prevention propaganda and physical improvement for workers.

In Nghia Dan commune, the grassroots Trade Union has coordinated with Dong Hieu General Clinic to organize free medical examinations for union members. This activity helps workers to be examined, receive health advice, and promptly detect signs of illness, thereby raising awareness of personal health care.

Along with that, at some businesses such as Tan Thang Cement Joint Stock Company, workers are organized for periodic health checks, contributing to controlling the risk of occupational diseases in a labor environment with heavy and hazardous factors. Communication messages such as "The whole people proactively prevent diseases", "Exercise every day", "Periodical health checks", "Say no to tobacco, limit alcohol and beer"... are also widely spread among union members and workers through the grassroots trade union system.

Mr. Kha Van Tam - Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation - said: "Trade union levels are strengthening coordination with businesses and the health sector to implement practical activities such as periodic health check-ups, disease prevention counseling, and improving the working environment, thereby ensuring the rights and improving the quality of life for workers.

Support cooling down, improve working conditions

In addition to medical examination and treatment activities, many grassroots trade unions have proactively implemented measures to support workers in prolonged hot weather conditions. At Kersen Technology Co., Ltd. (Vietnam), the Executive Committee of the grassroots Trade Union organized the distribution of chilled fruit milk to all officials and employees to supplement energy and support cooling in hot weather. Some units in Tan Ky commune also organized the distribution of free red bean sweet soup for workers. Simple sweet soup portions but contribute to helping workers cool down and recover their health after working hours.

Representatives of Minh Anh Company in Tan Ky said that on hot sunny days, businesses have proactively adjusted working hours reasonably, strengthened heat protection measures such as providing cooling drinks, supplementing nutrition and arranging mid-shift breaks. According to the representative, taking care of workers' health not only helps reduce pressure in harsh working conditions but also contributes to maintaining labor productivity and creating long-term bonds between workers and businesses.

Ms. Nguyen Hong Anh (35 years old) - a worker at Minh Anh Company - shared: "On hot sunny days, being cared for and supported with cooling drinks by the company and trade union, we feel very practical. This care helps workers feel secure at work, less vất vả during production shifts.
