Sumiden Vietnam Trade Union launches model of socialist grassroots trade union

On July 28, the Trade Union of Sumiden Vietnam Automobile Electric Cable Co., Ltd. (Dai An Industrial Park, Tu Minh Ward, Hai Phong City) organized a conference to launch the "Socialist Grassroots Trade Union" model for the period 2026 - 2030 combined with labor law propaganda for union members and workers.

According to the report at the conference, in the past time, the Company's Trade Union has maintained the effectiveness of dialogue and employee conference activities; participated in resolving recommendations related to salaries, allowances, working conditions and regimes for female workers. The Trade Union also negotiated and signed collective labor agreements with many clauses that are more beneficial to workers.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Quyet - Standing Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong City Labor Federation - acknowledged and highly appreciated the results achieved by the Company's Trade Union in the past time.

According to him, this is an important foundation for implementing the "Socialist Grassroots Trade Union" model. However, the self-review results currently only reach 82/100 points, still lacking at least 8 points compared to the standard; in which, the group of criteria on improving cultural and spiritual life only reached 12/20 points and needs to continue to be concerned and improved.

Mr. Nguyen Van Quyet said that in the context of automation, digital transformation, green transformation and increasingly high requirements for quality, productivity and safety in the automobile component manufacturing industry, the "Socialist Grassroots Trade Union" model needs to become a driving force for Trade Unions, businesses and workers to adapt, innovate and develop together.

The Hai Phong City Labor Federation assigned the Industrial Park Trade Union Board to directly guide the Company's Trade Union to implement the model according to the motto of being close to the grassroots level, clear work, with inspection and results; and at the same time requested the Company's Board of Directors to continue to coordinate and create conditions for the model to be implemented effectively, contributing to building harmonious, stable and sustainable labor relations.

At the program, the Company's leaders and the Trade Union Executive Committee signed a commitment to implement the model; organized a ceremony to launch the "Socialist Grassroots Trade Union" model; and presented gifts from the Hai Phong City Labor Federation to union members who are children of war invalids on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day.

The conference also organized propaganda on laws on social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance for officials and employees, directly conveyed by Mr. Luong Hoang Hai - Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Support Department for Social Insurance participants of the city.
