Transferring 250 million VND to someone 1,600km away by mistake, police support to get it back
Lam Dong - A woman mistakenly transferred 250 million VND to an account in Hai Phong, more than 1,600km away, and received the money back thanks to the support of the police.
On September 28, Son My Commune Police, Lam Dong province said they had just supported a resident to receive back 250 million VND after mistakenly transferring money to a person more than 1,600km away.
Previously, while transacting by bank transfer, Ms. N.T. M. N. (born in 1982, residing in Tan My village, Son My commune) accidentally transferred 250 million VND to a strange account of unknown owner.
Worried about the large amount of money being transferred by mistake, Ms. N. went to Son My Commune Police to report and ask for support in verifying.
Upon receiving the information, Son My Commune Police quickly checked and verified the account holder who received the money. Through verification, the recipient was identified as Mr. N.H. Q, residing in Dong Hai ward, Hai Phong city.
Due to the distance between the two localities reaching more than 1,600km, Son My Commune Police proactively contacted Dong Hai Ward Police to coordinate in exchanging and mobilizing the mistaken recipient to return the money.
After being connected and explained by the police force, Mr. Q fully returned 250 million VND to Ms. N.
Receiving all the money back, Ms. N. emotionally wrote a letter of thanks to Son My Commune Police and Dong Hai Ward Police for their sense of responsibility and timely support for people when encountering problems in transfer transactions.
