More than 64,000 Front Work Committees contribute to maintaining security from the grassroots level

On the afternoon of September 28, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Public Security coordinated with the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to organize a national conference to commend the typical advanced residential area Front Work Committee in the "All people protect national security" movement, period 2016-2026.

The conference was attended by individuals and advanced examples representing more than 64,000 Residential Area Front Committees and more than 600,000 members of Front Committees nationwide.

Thousands of self-management models are being replicated

According to the report at the conference, in the period 2016-2026, the Residential Area Front Work Committee continued to promote its role as a bridge between Party committees, authorities and people, participating in legal propaganda, mediation, crime prevention and mobilizing people to maintain security and order.

The whole country currently has 2,522 models to ensure security and order with 123,543 replicated points in many fields such as crime prevention and control, drugs, fire prevention and fighting, traffic safety, security in ethnic minority, religious and border areas.

There are also 86,136 security and order protection teams with 297,900 members established, supporting commune-level police to grasp the situation, patrol, fire prevention and fighting, mobilize and educate lawbreakers in the community.

Mediation activities continue to be focused on with 48,504 mediation teams, 479,827 mediators. Many cases related to land, marriage, civil, environmental and community relations are resolved from the grassroots level, contributing to limiting prolonged lawsuits and the risk of hotspots.

Through the movement, the people participated in mobilizing surrender and arresting 918 wanted subjects, fugitives and fugitive criminals; managing, reforming, educating, and helping more than 3,700 wrongdoers in the community.

Ms. Ha Thi Nga, Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairwoman - Secretary General of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, said that residential areas are places where security and order issues are identified and resolved early, from the grassroots level.

Each peaceful residential area is a brick for building a disciplined and safe society. Each responsible and dedicated Front Work Committee is a nucleus for fostering solidarity and consensus in the community," Ms. Ha Thi Nga said.

Do not use the number of models instead of efficiency

Speaking at the conclusion of the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Le Van Tuyen, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security, Head of the Central Steering Committee for "Implementing the all-people movement to protect national security" said that more than 656,000 cadres and members of the Fatherland Front Work Committee nationwide have directly participated in Party, government, people's inspection and grassroots mediation work, contributing to consolidating the political and social foundation in residential areas.

According to the Deputy Minister, in the coming time, it is necessary to continue to innovate the content and form of building the "All people protect national security" movement in the direction of being close to the people, close to the people, and understanding the people; propaganda must be easy to remember, easy to understand, easy to implement and suitable for each area and group of subjects.

At the same time, the Fatherland Front Work Committee needs to proactively coordinate with the commune-level police to grasp the situation, mediate conflicts, and prevent early and remote risks of complex security and order issues.

Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen especially reminded localities to take practical efficiency as an evaluation criterion, "not taking the number of models to replace quality and operational efficiency", regularly review and adjust models that are no longer suitable and replicate truly effective ways of doing things.
