Building a cultural life for workers from models

Cultural activity points, bookshelves and digital spaces are contributing to improving the spiritual life, knowledge and health of workers.

Trade union levels have implemented many suitable models, contributing to improving the cultural and spiritual life of workers (NLĐ). In Hanoi, about 200,000 workers are working in high-tech zones and industrial parks. The Trade Union of High-Tech Zones and Industrial Parks of Hanoi City manages 9 Cultural Activities Points, including 8 Points in enterprises and 1 Point in the Workers' Housing Area of Thien Loc commune.

Since being put into operation, worker cultural activity points have become places for union members and workers to practice, compete in culture, arts, and sports to improve and enrich the spiritual life of union members and workers. However, many cultural activity points have been operating for many years, equipment is degraded and damaged, requiring funding for repair and supplementation.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thang - Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, Chairman of the Trade Union of High-Tech Parks and Industrial Zones of Hanoi City proposed that the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour continue to invest in cultural institutions for workers, and at the same time proposed that the city support funding to upgrade activity points. The whole city currently has 62 cultural activity points for workers operating regularly and effectively at enterprises, industrial parks, industrial clusters and residential areas, meeting the cultural and spiritual needs of workers.

In the context of cultural institutions in industrial parks still lacking, activity points have become practical community spaces, organizing arts, sports, legal propaganda and supporting life, contributing to raising morale and increasing worker cohesion.

Especially, in building a cultural life for workers, there are models such as the Trade Union Bookcase - a model of cultural and intellectual space built by Vietnam Trade Union levels, aimed at improving spiritual life, disseminating laws and developing reading culture for union members and workers - which are being digitized by trade union levels, creating the most favorable conditions for workers to access. For example, in June, the Cau Giay Ward Trade Union (Hanoi) organized the launch of the "Cau Giay Ward Trade Union Digital Bookcase" model at Tin Phong Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company. The model was built to create a modern and convenient learning environment, helping union members and workers easily access a rich source of knowledge through digital platforms.
