VGCL will support 10 billion VND to build a sports area at Bach Mai Hospital, Ninh Binh facility

On October 14, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor visited and encouraged doctors, medical staff at Bach Mai Hospital, facility 2 in Ninh Binh and Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, facility 2 in Ninh Binh.

At the working session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Xuan Co - Director of Bach Mai Hospital proposed that the VGCL and the Vietnam Medical Union support connecting to help workers access information and procedures for buying social housing; strengthen coordination with local trade unions in welfare care, cultural exchange, sports and social security activities.

Notably, the hospital proposed to be supported with resources to build a sports complex at Ninh Binh facility, expected to include an indoor swimming pool, pickleball court, badminton, table tennis, bodybuilding, yoga and multi-purpose living spaces...

Referring to the recommendations of hospital leaders and the Trade Union of Bach Mai Hospital, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan said that the VGCL will continue to pay attention to and propose to functional agencies issues related to occupational safety and health, hazardous compensation regimes and working conditions of the medical team...

Regarding the proposal to build a sports complex at Bach Mai Hospital, Ninh Binh facility, the President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor expressed his agreement and said that this is a legitimate need of the medical staff, doctors, and medical staff to work at high intensity, often away from family...

Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan requested the hospital to soon complete the planning and design for the VGCL to consider registering support items.

In the immediate future, the VGCL is committed to supporting about 10 billion VND for the project; the remaining funding will require coordination and allocation from the hospital and other appropriate resources" - Chairman of the VGCL said.

At the visit and working session at Viet Duc Friendship Hospital facility 2, Mr. Duong Duc Hung - Director of Viet Duc Friendship Hospital said that there are currently about 436 officials and employees directly working in medical work at facility 2... The biggest difficulty currently is still the lack of equipment, surgical instruments and some conditions to serve patients and their families.

The hospital is proposing to supplement investment resources to complete facilities, purchase equipment, gradually increase capacity to 500 beds in the next phase and aim for a scale of 1,000 beds.

Mr. Le Tu Hoang - Chairman of the Trade Union of Viet Duc Friendship Hospital - expressed his emotion and thanked the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Vietnam Medical Union for their concern for the hospital's staff and employees.

Mr. Hoang wished the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, the Vietnam Medical Union and hospital leaders to continue to pay attention to and support improving travel, accommodation, and living conditions, and at the same time listen to and promptly resolve the legitimate thoughts and aspirations of union members and workers.

Sharing the difficulties of medical staff, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Anh Tuan expressed his admiration for the spirit of dedication and dedication of the team of professors, doctors, and medical staff.

According to him, each shift, each patient being treated is the result of the intelligence, dedication, responsibility and persistent efforts of the doctor.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan proposed that, in the immediate future, the Vietnam Medical Union should coordinate with the Trade Union of Viet Duc Friendship Hospital to study solutions to improve the spiritual life of workers.

In which, it is necessary to pay attention to arranging common living spaces, sports training areas and cultural and artistic exchange activities. These conditions can be implemented step by step, in accordance with actual capacity, and then continue to be completed according to the long-term planning of the hospital.

Regarding the government and the Trade Union of Ninh Binh province, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan proposed to continue to accompany the hospital in the operation phase, not just stopping at supporting the investment and construction of facilities. The parties need to strengthen coordination, organize exchange and connection activities so that medical staff and staff can gradually integrate into the living environment in the locality.

Another issue mentioned by Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan is the obstacles related to completing investment procedures, finalizing accounts, handing over facilities and purchasing equipment for Viet Duc Friendship Hospital facility 2.

The President of the VGCL said that he will continue to exchange and propose with competent agencies, including the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Health, the Government Office and government leaders in charge of the field, to find solutions to remove obstacles in mechanisms and procedures.

According to him, if the difficulties are resolved soon, the hospital will have conditions to accelerate the addition of equipment, increasing the operating capacity of facility 2 to 100%, equivalent to about 1,000 beds...
