Welcoming ceremony for General Secretary, President and First Lady's State visit to Singapore
During the welcoming ceremony, the President of Singapore and his wife went to the car door to welcome and warmly welcomed General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife.
On May 29, at the headquarters of the Singaporean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President of the Republic of Singapore Tharman Shanmugaratnam and his wife chaired a solemn welcoming ceremony for General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife, along with the high-level Vietnamese delegation on a state visit to the Republic of Singapore and delivered a keynote speech at the Shangri-La Dialogue, from May 29-31.
The car carrying General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife entered the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters, the President of Singapore and his wife went to the car door to welcome and warmly welcomed General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife on a state visit to Singapore. The two leaders walked on the red carpet towards the podium of honor. Military music performed the national anthems of Vietnam and Singapore.
Immediately after the welcoming ceremony, General Secretary and President To Lam and President Tharman Shanmugaratnam introduced members of the high-level delegations of Singapore and Vietnam to attend the welcoming ceremony.
Vietnam and Singapore are two countries with very dynamic, substantive and effective friendly and cooperative relations in Southeast Asia.
The State visit of General Secretary and President To Lam to Singapore is of particular importance in continuing to implement and concretize the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership framework between the two countries.
