Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang congratulates Vesak in Hue
HUE - Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang visits and congratulates Hue Buddhism on the 2570th Buddha's Birthday.
On May 29, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang and the working delegation of the Government and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front visited and congratulated the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (GHPGVN) of Hue City on the occasion of the Buddha's Birthday Vesak 2570 - Solar 2026.
At the Executive Board of GHPGVN Hue City, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang sent congratulations to Venerable Thich Khe Chon and dignitaries, monks, nuns, and Buddhists in the locality on the Buddha's Birthday season.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that Hue is one of the largest Buddhist centers of the country, a place that preserves many unique cultural values and heritage. At the same time, he acknowledged the contributions of the Executive Board of the VBS of Hue City in social security, charity and humanitarian activities, and building new rural areas and civilized cities.
Government leaders affirmed that the Party and State always respect and ensure the freedom of belief and religion of the people; create conditions for religious organizations to operate in accordance with legal regulations.
The Deputy Prime Minister also expressed his belief that GHPGVN Hue City will successfully organize the City Buddhist Congress for the term 2026 - 2031; continue to promote the motto "Dao Phap - Dan Toc - Socialism", contributing to cultural preservation, environmental protection and local development.
On behalf of the Executive Board of the VBS of Hue City, Venerable Thich Khe Chon thanked the attention of the Party, State, and Government leaders and affirmed that monks, nuns, and Buddhists will continue to accompany the nation, contributing to building an increasingly developed homeland.
On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang also visited Venerable Thich Giac Quang at Bao Lam Pagoda and Tuong Van Ancestral Temple; recognizing the contributions of Hue Buddhism in social security, cultural preservation and consolidation of the great national unity bloc.
