Yen Bai Silk Trade Union turns emulation into a "lever" to increase income
Lao Cai - Linking emulation with productivity, quality and bonuses, the Trade Union of Yen Bai Silkworm Joint Stock Company creates new motivation right on the production line.
At Yen Bai Silkworm Joint Stock Company (Tran Yen commune, Lao Cai province), the emulation movement "Good labor, good income" is creating clear changes in production.
When productivity and quality are directly linked to bonuses, workers have more motivation to improve their skills and support each other to progress together.
The company currently creates jobs for about 230 workers, mainly women, and also links to consume silkworm cocoons for people in many provinces, from Lao Cai, Cao Bang, Tuyen Quang, Son La to Nghe An, Ha Tinh.

To improve silk productivity and quality, the enterprise has reorganized the Incubation and Spinning department with 90 workers, divided into 10 groups.
The arrangement is carried out based on skills, capacity and work productivity, according to the principle of interweaving experienced labor with limited people to support and mentor each other right on the production line.
Mr. Nguyen Trong Dong - Deputy Director, Chairman of the grassroots trade union of Yen Bai Silkworm Joint Stock Company - said that to make the emulation movement substantive, the trade union coordinates with the Board of Directors to develop regulations on rewards associated with quality and output.

Accordingly, teams are evaluated monthly based on silk quality from 4A and above and total output. Teams that win the First Prize are awarded 5 million VND; if they meet or exceed both set standards, the bonus level is up to 10 million VND.
At the end of the year, teams with good achievements continue to be rewarded. Team leaders with production shifts winning First Prize consecutively for 3 months are also rewarded 5 million VND.
This approach has created a competitive atmosphere right on the production line. Workers proactively control quality, save raw materials, optimize working hours and support colleagues to improve their skills.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai, Team Leader of Team 8 - Team that won the First Prize in September 2026 - shared that since applying the new team division method, members of the team regularly support each other, especially skilled workers who mentor new people.
The award is not only recognition but also creates motivation for us to continue to try in each production shift, maintaining our achievements in the last months of the year" - Ms. Mai said.

From changes in production organization and emulation movements, the average income of employees at the company currently reaches over 10 million VND/person/month.
Linking productivity and quality with income is becoming a "lever" for workers to become more attached to businesses, while contributing to ensuring stable output for the mulberry raw material area.
This is also how trade unions and businesses jointly create harmonious benefits, towards the goal of sustainable development.
