Dong Thap - The province aims to create stable jobs for over 3,000 female members and workers through cooperatives and cooperative groups managed and operated by women.

On September 14, the Office of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province said that Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Minh Tuan signed and issued a Plan to implement the Project "Supporting cooperatives (HTX) managed by women, creating jobs for female workers by 2030".

According to the plan, Dong Thap will consolidate and improve the quality of operation of at least 30 cooperatives and 280 cooperative groups (THT) managed and operated by women, creating stable jobs for over 3,000 female members and workers.

The Provincial Women's Union at all levels will advise and support the establishment of 8 new cooperatives, striving for over 50% of female labor, creating jobs for about 300 female workers. The province sets a target of 100% of female cooperative managers being trained and fostered in management and administration capacity; and at the same time supporting training for members, workers and women who need to participate in collective economic development and cooperatives; especially promoting digital transformation and connecting outputs. To improve the quality of support work, 100% of Association officials in charge of collective economic development and cooperatives are trained; at least 80% of Association officials at all levels improve their skills in propaganda, mobilization and supporting women to participate in this model.

The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Provincial Women's Union to preside over and coordinate with departments, branches and localities to implement the plan. Implementation funds are allocated from the state budget annually, integrating programs to support collective economic development, cooperatives, national target programs and mobilizing credit capital from the Social Policy Bank, and the Provincial Cooperative Development Support Fund.
