New houses are about to be built after floods, people emotionally thank the armed forces

On December 14, the Hue Military Command (CHQS) said that in the spirit of " speeding", officers and soldiers of the Hue Military Command are urgently deploying the construction and repair of houses for people severely affected by floods, determined to help people soon stabilize their lives.

In Loc An commune, Ms. Vo Thi Tram's house was completed in the foundation and solid wall after just over a week of implementation. Officers and soldiers of the Phu Loc Defense Command of Region 3 and local militia work continuously, exceeding the set schedule.

"My house is in a low-lying area, and I worry every rainy and stormy season. Now that I have a new house, I am more secure. I am grateful for the attention of the local government and the Army officers and soldiers who did not mind the hard work to help me, Ms. Vo Thi Tram emotionally shared.

Major Phan Viet Vinh - Assistant to the Staff Department, Phu Loc Region 3 Defense Command said that the unit has identified this as a key political task in 2025. "We consider helping the people as helping our own families, determined to complete the house before December 22, the founding day of the Vietnam People's Army", said Major Vinh.

In Khe Tre commune, Mr. Tran Van Vien, one of the households with heavy damage to their houses, was allocated 200m2 of resettlement land by the local government, supported with funding and mobilized forces to help build new houses in safer locations.

I never thought I would have such a big, secure house. Having lived in fear of the storm season for many years, now that the Party, State, local authorities and soldiers have helped me, I am extremely grateful, Mr. Vien shared.

According to Mr. Tran Van Quang - Vice Chairman of Khe Tre Commune People's Committee, the recent flood caused 10 households to be directly affected in their houses, nearly 100 households were in the landslide risk area, of which 3 houses were almost completely collapsed. Immediately after launching the Quang Trung Campaign, the locality has closely coordinated with forces to repair and rebuild new houses for people. The goal is to complete the new house before January 31, 2026, and the repair house before December 31, 2025," said Mr. Quang.
