3 tasks of university teaching assistants from December 2026

Clause 1, Article 7, Circular 90/2026/TT-BGDDT of the Ministry of Education and Training stipulating standards, conditions, working regimes, appointments and salary rankings for university education support personnel (effective from December 7, 2026) stipulates that teaching assistants have the following tasks:

a) Supporting lecturers in preparing content, learning materials and conditions for teaching; guiding learners to study, practice, experiment, internship and other learning activities as assigned by lecturers; supporting the organization of discussions and tutoring; participating in supporting activities to inspect and evaluate learners within the scope of assigned responsibilities and tasks as assigned by lecturers or units with professional management functions;

b) Studying, fostering and improving expertise, professional skills and teaching methods; participating in practical activities to improve the quality of training and scientific research;

c) Perform other tasks assigned by the head of the higher education institution in accordance with the professional capacity standards of the teaching assistant position and other relevant legal regulations.

Thus, from December 7, 2026, university teaching assistants have tasks according to the above regulations.
