Vietnam - Laos identify strategic cohesion in political relations as a pillar
President Luong Cuong affirmed that the relationship between Vietnam and Laos continues to develop comprehensively and effectively in many fields.
On January 26, at the Presidential Palace, President Luong Cuong had a meeting with Lao General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith.
At the meeting, President Luong Cuong emphasized that General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith's choice of Vietnam as the first country to visit immediately after the Lao People's Revolutionary Party successfully organized the 12th Congress has profound political significance, further affirming the strong determination of the leaders and people of the two countries in preserving, nurturing and developing the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, strategic cohesion, as well as the close and close relationship between the two Parties, the two States and the people of the two countries throughout the struggle for independence and national construction and development.

In the context of the regional and world situation having many complex fluctuations, the President emphasized that the strengthening of solidarity, attachment, regular information sharing and close coordination of positions between the two countries is becoming more necessary and meaningful than ever, thereby supporting each other to successfully implement the development goals of each Party and each country.
Exchanging views on the direction of cooperation in the coming time, President Luong Cuong said that the two sides continue to identify strategic cohesion in political relations as a pillar, playing an overall orienting role for bilateral cooperation.
At the same time, the two countries will strengthen defense and security cooperation, contributing to maintaining political stability, social order and safety of each country; coordinate to accelerate the progress of key cooperation projects, remove difficulties and obstacles, and create new breakthroughs in economic, trade and investment cooperation.
In addition, the two sides agreed to continue to closely coordinate in organizing activities to celebrate major holidays of the two countries in a practical, effective, and in-depth direction; strengthen exchanges of positions on strategic issues and coordination and mutual support at multilateral forums.
The two leaders expressed their pleasure and confidence that, on the solid foundation of the special solidarity relationship "both comrades and brothers", along with high-level common perceptions, close interests and important achievements made in the past time, the relations between the two countries will continue to be deepened, meeting the development requirements in the new stage.
