Da Nang - The concern and care of the trade union organization has brought joy to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers on the occasion of July 27.

Proud memories in a warm home of affection

In a peaceful small house on Pham Ngoc Thach street (Da Nang City), Vietnamese Heroic Mother Nguyen Thi Nhung has turned 97 this year. Although the traces of time have been deeply imprinted on the figure of the veteran revolutionary cadre, the memory of the years of resilient resistance and the heroic sacrifice of her son is still an immortal pride of the family.

In those days, following the sacred call of the Fatherland, Mother Nhung soon participated in secret revolutionary activities. In the years of arduous resistance war against the US for national salvation, Mother went through many periods of birth and death. Following the mother's resilient tradition, son Pham Phu Thanh, when he was just over ten years old, put aside his youthful dreams and volunteered to join the army. He fought bravely and sacrificed himself on the Dien Tien battlefield, dedicating his youth to the country.

To take care of Mother in her old age, Mr. Nguyen Hong Van (75 years old - Mother's grandson) has always been attached to and close to Mother for decades.

Although he has retired and his health is somewhat limited at the age of seventy, Mr. Van still dedicates his whole heart to worrying about every meal and sleep for his mother. He arranges a room next to his mother's house, and at the same time asks people to support him to be on duty every day to take care of medical care and prepare medicine. That warm and meaningful house today is again filled with laughter when welcoming the working delegation of Hai Chau Ward Trade Union to visit and express gratitude on the occasion of the anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day 27. 7.

Trade Union affection for policy families

The visit to Mother Nguyen Thi Nhung is part of a series of meaningful origin activities of Hai Chau Ward Trade Union on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2026) and the 97th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2026). Previously, a working delegation led by Mr. Nguyen Dinh Trung - Chairman of the Ward Trade Union came to offer flowers and incense at typical historical relics in the city such as: 2/9 Memorial, Phuoc Ninh Cemetery, Dien Hai Special National Relic, Mother Nhu Relic Area and Hai Chau Village communal house.

At each stop, in a solemn and respectful atmosphere, delegates observed a minute of silence to commemorate and express infinite gratitude to the heroic martyrs who fell for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. Immediately after the incense offering ceremony, the delegation directly visited and presented gratitude gifts to 5 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and policy families in the area, including the families of Mother Nguyen Thi Nhung, Mother Nguyen Thi Su and relatives of martyrs.

These gifts, although small in material terms, contain great spiritual values, expressing the moral principles of "When drinking water, remember the source", "Gratitude" of the nation.
