Prime Minister Le Minh Hung chairs the first meeting of the Standing Government
Prime Minister Le Minh Hung requested opinions on expanding the subjects and scope of handling obstacles for prolonged backlog projects, avoiding waste.
On the morning of April 9, Politburo Member, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung chaired a meeting of the Standing Committee of the Government and the Standing Committee of the Government Party Committee, according to VNA.
At the meeting, the Standing Committee of the Government and the Standing Committee of the Government Party Committee considered important contents: The Government's Action Program to implement Conclusion No. 18-KL/TW of the Central Government on socio-economic development plan, national finance, public debt borrowing and repayment, 5-year medium-term investment 2026-2030; the situation of removing difficulties and obstacles for backlog projects; on the Government's Working Regulations; the consolidation of the Standing Agency of the Government Steering Committee for Science and Technology Development, Innovation, Digital Transformation and Project 06.
Speaking to direct and conclude the meeting, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung emphasized that this is the first meeting of the Standing Committee of the Government and the Standing Committee of the Government Party Committee immediately after the 2026-2031 term Government was consolidated. In the context of many tasks, both urgent and long-term, Government members urgently started working immediately.
Regarding the Government's action program to implement Conclusion No. 18-KL/TW of the Central Government on socio-economic development plan, national finance, public debt borrowing and repayment, and 5-year medium-term investment in 2026-2030, the Prime Minister clearly stated that the Central Government's conclusion has clearly stated the viewpoints, objectives, tasks, solutions, as well as directed the organization of implementation.
Therefore, the Government's action program must concretize Conclusion No. 18, with specific tasks of each ministry, sector, and locality, especially clearly assigning tasks, clear roadmaps, and progress to promote rapid and sustainable development of the country.

Regarding the situation of implementing the removal of difficulties and obstacles for backlog projects, the Prime Minister said that previously, the Politburo had concluded, the National Assembly and the Government had Resolutions on removing difficulties and obstacles for prolonged backlog projects.
Ministries, branches, and localities implemented the removal of difficulties and obstacles for more than 1,000 projects in 5 provinces and cities.
Stating that through review, there are currently about 1,500 projects with difficulties and obstacles nationwide, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung requested the Government Office and the Ministry of Finance to preside over and coordinate with ministries, branches, and localities, under the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang, to complete the draft report of the Government to submit to competent authorities on the situation and results of removing difficulties and obstacles for backlog projects in the past time.
At the same time, request opinions on expanding the subjects and scope of handling obstacles for prolonged backlog projects to bring resources to serve development, avoiding wasting the resources of the State, people, and businesses.
Directing the completion of the Government's Working Regulations and consolidating the Standing Agency of the Government Steering Committee for Science and Technology Development, Innovation, Digital Transformation and Project 06, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung requested ministries, branches, and relevant agencies to complete the documents and submit them to the Government leaders for consideration immediately next week.
