The Ring Road 3 intersection with Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh Expressway is revealed
The Ring Road 3 intersection with Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway is being urgently completed to connect with Nhon Trach Bridge - expected to be technically open to traffic on April 30, 2025.
This intersection is one of six large-scale intersections on Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3, including: Intersection with Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway; Tan Van Intersection; Binh Chuan Intersection; Provincial Road 10 Intersection; Intersection with Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway.
With a design including an overpass across Ring Road 3 and four branches, the intersection ensures flexible connection between routes.
Notably, the Thu Thiem - Long Thanh (Dong Nai) light rail line is also integrated into this project, opening up the potential for developing multi-modal transport in the area.
According to the record on April 1, the construction site is in the peak period with hundreds of workers, engineers and machines operating continuously.
Currently, the construction work focuses on placing girders, completing the bridge deck and roadbed.
The Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (investor) said that the XL1 package - including the scope of this intersection - has reached more than 50% of the construction volume.
According to the plan, the main items of the Ring Road 3 intersection with the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh Expressway will be completed on April 30, 2025, in sync with Nhon Trach Bridge.
By June 2025, vehicles can travel through this area, contributing to reducing traffic pressure on the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway.
The intersection will connect with the road leading through Nhon Trach Bridge towards Dong Nai, and at the same time connect with Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway, forming an important inter-provincial traffic axis.
The project also significantly helps shorten the distance from Thu Duc City to Nhon Trach District (Dong Nai), opening up a more convenient direction of travel between Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring areas.
According to the roadmap, by the end of 2025, the section of Ring Road 3 through Thu Duc City will be technically open to traffic on an elevated route of 14.7 km, from Nhon Trach Bridge to Tan Van intersection.
In addition, 6.54 km of Ring Road 3 passing through Long An will also be technically open to traffic at the end of this year.
The Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project has a total length of 76.34 km, passing through 4 localities including Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Binh Duong and Long An.
With a total investment of up to VND 75,378 billion, the project includes VND 33,788 billion for construction costs and VND 41,590 billion for site clearance.
The entire Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 is expected to open to traffic on June 30, 2026.
When put into operation, this route will become an important traffic axis, connecting major urban areas, reducing the load on the inner city of Ho Chi Minh City, while promoting the strong development of the key economic region in the South.
