Lao Cai - The province is accelerating the adjustment of planning for the Ban Vuoc customs clearance area, creating a clean land fund and attracting investment to develop smart border gates.

On the morning of August 7, Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Anh chaired a working session on adjusting the planning, investment situation and investment attraction plan for the Ban Vuoc customs clearance area (Lao Cai, Vietnam) - Ba Sai (Yunnan, China).

According to the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board, this area is being adjusted and expanded from 343 ha to about 455.5 ha.

Along with that, Vietnamese functional agencies and Ha Khau district (China) have agreed on orientations for priority subjects, vehicles and goods when the customs clearance route comes into operation.

From 2025 to now, the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board has terminated the operation of 6 slow-progress projects, currently the area still has 3 valid projects.

However, investment attraction still faces difficulties due to obstacles in land, mineral planning and border area management regulations.
