Lao Cai Trade Union visits and gives gifts to border bridge construction workers

On the morning of August 6, the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation coordinated with the Trade Union of Industrial Parks at Base 2 to organize a program to visit and encourage workers who are constructing the Border Bridge Project across the Red River in Bat Xat commune.

According to a representative of the Lao Cai Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, the border bridge construction item has a budget of 288 billion VND from the central budget and the provincial budget.

The project started construction on March 31, 2025, including the main bridge over the Red River in a low-tower cable structure, connecting the Ban Vuoc area (Vietnam) with Ba Sai (China), along with a synchronous access road and infrastructure system.

These days, the construction atmosphere at the Border Bridge Project across the Red River is always urgent. Dozens of engineers, workers and many mechanical equipment are mobilized, maintaining 3 shifts, 4 teams to meet the schedule and take advantage of favorable weather conditions.

The sound of machinery operating continuously day and night shows the determination to bring the key project to completion on schedule.

It is known that to date, the project has completed about 60% of the construction volume and is striving to complete it by the end of 2026.

Speaking at the visit, Mr. Vu Cao Minh - Standing Vice Chairman of the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation acknowledged and praised the spirit of overcoming difficulties of the team of officials, engineers and workers who are day and night clinging to the construction site to accelerate the project progress.

Mr. Vu Cao Minh emphasized that the Border Bridge Project across the Red River is an important project in developing transport infrastructure, promoting trade and cooperation between Vietnam and China.

Therefore, the trade union organization always cares for, accompanies, and cares for the material and spiritual life of workers, especially workers working at key projects, where construction conditions are still difficult.

Representatives of the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation also wished units to continue to ensure labor safety, take good care of workers' lives, and at the same time promote the spirit of labor and production emulation, determined to bring the project to completion on schedule, ensuring quality and safety.

At the program, the working delegation presented a collective gift worth 2 million VND to the construction unit and 5 gifts, each worth 500,000 VND, to workers and laborers in difficult circumstances working at the construction site.
