Khanh Hoa - The locality sets a target of over 80% of the labor force having basic digital skills and using online public services.
On August 6, news from Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee said that it has issued a plan to develop the digital economy and digital society to 2030, with the goal of making the digital economy a driving force to promote growth, improve productivity, quality and competitiveness of the economy.
According to the plan, by 2030, Khanh Hoa strives for the proportion of the digital economy to reach 35% of GRDP; the proportion of the digital economy in each industry and sector to reach at least 20%.
The province also sets a target to maintain an average industrial development rate of 15-20%/year, while the energy sector grows by about 20%/year.
For business operations, Khanh Hoa aims for a minimum target of 80% of small and medium-sized enterprises using digital platforms; supporting and guiding at least 100 businesses in the area to implement digital transformation solutions and develop smart production.
In the field of commerce, the province strives for the proportion of e-commerce to account for at least 20% of total retail sales; about 45% of small and medium-sized enterprises operating in the field of commerce participate in large e-commerce platforms at home and abroad.
At the same time, over 80% of business households and modern retail establishments apply non-cash payment methods.
Regarding digital society development, Khanh Hoa sets a target that by 2030, 95% of adults will use smartphones; over 80% of the labor force will have basic digital skills and use online public services.
In addition, the province aims for 100% of households to have access to broadband fiber optic Internet at a speed of 1 Gb/s; 5G network covers 99% of the population, ensuring a minimum access speed of 100 Mb/s.
Many workers believe that the goal of having over 80% of the labor force possess basic digital skills by 2030 is very necessary in the context of strong digital transformation taking place in all fields.
Ms. Thanh Thuy - a worker at Suoi Dau Industrial Park said that currently, even jobs that seem unrelated to technology have to use smartphones, management software, electronic payments or online platforms.
Ms. Thuy hopes that along with this goal, the province will have more free or low-cost digital skills training programs for workers, especially workers, freelancers and people in rural areas, to have access to.
