Merging Soc Trang Newspaper and Radio and Television Station
Soc Trang - Soc Trang Radio and Television will officially come into operation in May 2025.
On the afternoon of April 14, the Standing Committee of the Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee held a Conference to announce the decision to merge Soc Trang Newspaper and Soc Trang Radio and Television Station into Soc Trang Newspaper and Television Station.
Accordingly, this merged media agency will officially come into operation on May 1, 2025.
At the Conference, the Organizing Committee of Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee also announced the decision to appoint Mr. Nguyen Van Trieu - Editor-in-Chief of Soc Trang Newspaper (before the merger) to hold the position of Editor-in-Chief of Soc Trang Newspaper and Radio and Television; announced 6 decisions to appoint Deputy Editor-in-Chief.
Soc Trang Radio and Television Newspaper is a public service unit under the Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee. There are 8 professional departments.
Speaking at the Conference, Central Party Committee member and Secretary of the Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee Lam Van Man acknowledged the important contributions of both Soc Trang Newspaper and Soc Trang Radio and Television to the overall development of the province over the past 33 years.
The Provincial Party Secretary emphasized that the merger of the two units is not simply an organizational merger but also a step to build a multimedia and multi-platform media agency in line with the strong development trend of modern journalism.
Mr. Man believes that this merger will help make more effective use of existing resources, including human resources, finance, facilities and technology. Thereby enhancing the influence and effectiveness of propaganda work, especially in orienting public opinion, towards the ultimate goal of better serving the people and sustainable development of Soc Trang province.
