Accelerating site clearance for expressway stations in Quang Binh

On March 26, the Department of Transport of Quang Binh province said that among the two rest stops of the North-South expressway project passing through the province, the rest stop in Quang Chau commune (Quang Trach district) has completed site clearance and handed it over to the investor.

However, at the rest stop in Dong Son ward (Dong Hoi city), there are still 3.12 hectares of land that have not been cleared for site clearance. Currently, the compensation and support plan has been made public and will be submitted to the Dong Hoi City People's Committee for approval in April 2025.

According to the original plan, these 2 rest stops have an area of 9.83 hectares, and have been cleared and handed over in advance. However, in September 2024, the Ministry of Transport decided to expand the area of the two stations by 10.17 hectares, forcing the locality to continue implementing site clearance for the increased area.

Of which, the rest stop in Quang Chau commune (Quang Trach district) has an expanded area of 7.05 hectares, has completed site clearance and is ready for construction. The rest stop in Dong Son ward (Dong Hoi city) has an area of 3.12 hectares and is currently continuing to be cleared.

Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of Project Management Board 6 said that there was a winning bidder for the construction of these two rest stops. In the coming time, the contractor will carry out construction work after completing the site handover.

The early completion of site clearance and the implementation of construction of rest stops is of great significance, not only serving the rest needs of traffic participants but also contributing to improving the quality of services on the North - South expressway. Local authorities are closely coordinating to speed up the progress, ensuring that the overall progress of the project is not affected.
