Special milestone of national infrastructure
December 19 is a special milestone for the health and transportation sectors when many key projects were simultaneously started, inaugurated, and celebrated the 14th National Congress of the Party.
Developing a modern and synchronous health system
The inauguration of Bach Mai Hospital, Facility 2, Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, Facility 2, the groundbreaking of the High-quality Care, Examination and Treatment Center at Thong Nhat Hospital, Da Nang C Hospital, along with the project to build and upgrade the Central Traditional Medicine Hospital... is a testament to the policy of "taking people as the center" and efforts to improve the quality of health services.
Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan said that the two leading end-of-line hospitals in the country with a scale of each facility of 1,000 beds, are equipped with synchronous and advanced infrastructure and medical equipment, qualified to deploy high-tech techniques at regional level and gradually approaching international standards. This is the result of the drastic direction process, close coordination and efforts and enthusiasm of ministries, branches, localities and the staff of the two hospitals.
Bach Mai Hospital, Facility 2 and Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, Facility 2 are two key medical projects, invested in the direction of becoming specialized, high-tech, modern and safe medical centers, meeting the increasing demand for medical examination and treatment of the people. The completion of the two projects contributes to reducing the burden on the central level, while affirming the strategic vision of the Party and State in developing a modern and synchronous health system.
When put into operation, the two hospitals will be vivid symbols of the remarkable development of Vietnamese medicine in the new era, practically contributing to improving the quality of life and longevity of Vietnamese people.
Creating new development space
Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh said that in the period of 2021 - 2025, the Government has issued synchronous resolutions and action programs to organize the implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress. On that basis, many key tasks on infrastructure development were implemented and important results were achieved. This includes the goal of completing 5,000km of high-speed railway and completing the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line by 2030; developing large seaports and airports; investing in the North - South high-speed railway line; promoting urban railways in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City; developing local railway lines and international transit seaports; building nuclear power plants with appropriate scale, advanced technology, ensuring safety.
The Ben Thanh - Can Gio Metro project invested by VinSpeed High-speed Railway Investment and Development Joint Stock Company (under Vingroup Corporation) was broken ground to mark the beginning of the first high-speed railway line in Vietnam.
The project has a total length of about 54km, starting at Ben Thanh area (formerly District 1), ending at Can Gio coastal urban area. In phase I, the project will build two main stations, Ben Thanh and Can Gio, with a depot of about 39 hectares to serve the operation and maintenance of trains.
The Ben Thanh - Can Gio Metro uses the Velaro Novo train - the most modern high-speed train line of Siemens Mobility (Germany), with a maximum designed speed of up to 350km/h. When put into operation, the route is expected to operate 6 trains and a reserve train, with a travel time from the center of Ho Chi Minh City to Can Gio of only about 20.3 minutes.
The total preliminary investment of the project is about 102,430 billion VND, excluding the cost of site clearance of about 12,784 billion VND arranged by the state budget. When put into commercial operation, the Ben Thanh - Can Gio Metro line will open up new development space for Ho Chi Minh City.
