Vietnamese soldiers are ready to support Myanmar in overcoming the consequences of the earthquake
The Ministry of National Defense has organized forces and vehicles to support Myanmar in overcoming the consequences of the earthquake, and is expected to depart on March 30.
On March 29, the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) held a conference on sending forces to be ready to participate in earthquake relief in Myanmar.
Senior General Huynh Chien Thang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army - chaired the conference.
Reporting at the conference, the leader of the Department of Rescue said that the 7.7 earthquake that occurred on March 28 in Central Myanmar caused at least 10 aftershocks, with intensity ranging from 2.8 to 7.5. The consequences have left thousands of people dead and injured.
The Rescue - Rescue Department has chaired and coordinated with relevant agencies and units to organize the development of the plan, set up forces to participate in humanitarian assistance and disaster relief of the People's Army of Vietnam in Myanmar including 79 soldiers, including: Commanding force, propaganda information, rescue force (including rescue force, rescue search under the Command of the Council of the Council of the Department of the Military Manager). The General Department of Logistics and Engineering coordinates with the Military Department to organize forces and means to be mobilized to perform tasks. In particular, focusing on ensuring logistics and techniques for search and rescue forces and ensuring relief goods for your country.
The Department of Foreign Affairs deploys all aspects of support for immigration procedures; coordinates with the Air Defense - Air Force and civil airlines to organize the sending of forces for tasks, equipment and relief goods to the shocking areas in Myanmar.
After listening to the authorities and units evaluate and analyze the situation, Senior Lieutenant General Huynh Chien Thang acknowledged the results of the preparation and organization of forces performing relief missions in Myanmar.
Deputy Chief of General Staff of the People's Army of Vietnam stated that the appointment of the Vietnam People's Army forces to participate in humanitarian support and disaster relief in Myanmar demonstrating a high responsibility to the international community of the Party, the State and the people of Vietnam; affirming the prestige, sense of responsibility and capacity of Vietnam People's Army in international relations and cooperation.
Senior General Huynh Chien Thang requested the Department of Rescue - Rescue, the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Engineering Corps, the General Department of Logistics - Engineering and related units to closely coordinate and deploy the procedures as quickly as possible so that the task force can set off on March 30.
