An Giang considers and approves 20 important resolutions

On July 28, An Giang Provincial People's Council held the 4th session (Regular mid-year session 2026) for the 2026-2031 term.

Speaking at the opening of the session, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Council Le Hong Tham said that the first 6 months of 2026 took place in the context of the world and regional situation continuing to develop rapidly, complicatedly, and unpredictably. For An Giang province, this is a particularly meaningful period when both consolidating the organizational structure after elections and operating the two-level local government model, while focusing on unlocking resources, promoting growth, preparing for APEC 2027 and realizing development goals in the new period.

Besides the achieved results, the province still faces many difficulties and challenges. The pressure to complete the 2026 growth target is still very high; the mobilization and unlocking of resources for development investment still has bottlenecks; administrative reform, digital transformation and the operation of the two-level local government model need to be further improved to meet development requirements in the new situation...

In that context and requirement, the 4th Session takes place with extremely important significance. This is a session to comprehensively assess the implementation of socio-economic development tasks, national defense, security, state budget revenue and expenditure in the first 6 months of the year; discuss the achieved results, shortcomings, limitations, causes and lessons learned; thereby deciding on key tasks and solutions for the last 6 months of the year to strive to achieve the highest goals and targets of 2026," Ms. Tham emphasized.

At this session, the Provincial People's Council will consider the reports of the Standing Committee of the People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, the Boards of the People's Council, judicial agencies and relevant agencies according to regulations; conduct discussions, questioning and considering the adoption of 20 important resolutions.

Speaking at the meeting, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of An Giang Provincial Party Committee Le Quang Tung said: In the first 6 months of 2026, although there are still many difficulties and challenges, with the solidarity and determination of the entire political system, the business community and all classes of people, the province has achieved many important and quite comprehensive results in all fields.

To successfully complete the 2026 target, the Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee requested the Provincial People's Council, Provincial People's Committee and the entire political system to focus on performing key tasks such as the Provincial People's Council continuing to strongly innovate thinking and operating methods; proactively review and improve the system of resolutions, mechanisms, and policies in the direction of inheriting regulations that are still appropriate, promptly amending and repealing regulations that no longer meet practical requirements; and at the same time fully and promptly institutionalize the guidelines and resolutions of the Central Government, National Assembly, Government and Provincial Party Committee, creating a transparent legal corridor to unlock all resources, promote growth and rapid and sustainable development drivers.

The Provincial People's Committee needs to focus on leading and directing drastically, synchronously, and effectively socio-economic development solutions; regularly review each target, each field, each program, and project to promptly remove difficulties and obstacles, clearly identify the causes, responsibilities and implementation solutions; determined to complete at the highest level the goals, targets, and tasks for 2026.

Focus on preparing good conditions to serve the APEC Conference, identifying this as a particularly important political task assigned by the Central Government. Accelerate disbursement of public investment capital, site clearance, progress of projects, urban embellishment, ensuring security, order, a civilized and professional environment and the best service quality.
