Mr. Truong Trong Nghia elected Chairman of Dong Thap Literature and Arts Association

The Congress elected the Executive Committee of the Dong Thap Provincial Union of Literature and Arts Association, term I, consisting of 25 members. The Executive Committee of term I elected the Standing Committee consisting of 5 members; Mr. Truong Trong Nghia holds the position of Chairman of the Association. Two Vice Chairmen are Lam Thi Anh Dao and Nguyen Thanh Hai.

As Lao Dong newspaper reported, on September 15, the 1st Congress of the Dong Thap Provincial Union of Literature and Arts, term 2026 - 2031, took place at the Provincial Convention Center with the participation of 200 members who are representatives of leaders, guests and 160 delegates representing more than 700 members currently operating in 8 specialized branches.

In the 2026 - 2031 term, the Association identified the goal of building the organization into a common house of solidarity, democracy, and creativity for the team of artists and writers; taking members as the center of service, and works as a measure of quality and creativity as the vitality of the Association. The Congress passed a Resolution with many important contents, striving to admit 15-20 members/year, introducing 5-10 members who meet the conditions for specialized Associations of Literature and Arts of the Central Government to consider admitting.

During the term, organize at least 30 creative camps, creative classes, field trips, creative exchanges inside and outside the province; support the publication of at least 50 quality books, collections, and literary and artistic works. Annually, strive to organize at least 5 exhibitions of fine arts, photography, calligraphy and suitable art forms; at least 5 programs to introduce and promote new authors and works in the form of direct or on digital platforms.

Notably, the Association sets a goal to advise on building a mechanism for ordering, investing, and supporting from 10 - 20 literary and artistic works and works of high ideological and artistic value in the term. Especially focusing on young forces and digital transformation. In which, especially discovering and fostering young forces is identified as one of the key tasks. Every year, the Association strives to organize or coordinate to organize at least one activity to discover and foster literary and artistic talents for youth, students, and young creative forces.

In digital transformation, the Association sets a target of 100% of member records being reviewed, standardized and managed by digital data; building a database on typical authors and literary and artistic works of the province, upgrading the Electronic Information Page and gradually forming a digital document warehouse.

The Association also strives to organize 2-3 literary and artistic activities at the Mekong Delta or national level in the term, thereby expanding exchanges and enhancing the position of Dong Thap literary and artistic arts.

With the motto "Solidarity - Innovation - Creativity - Development", the Association aims to create changes in the quality of creation, professional activities and the ability to bring literature and art closer to the public. Speaking at the closing ceremony, Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial Union of Literature and Arts Truong Trong Nghia said that the Congress closes but a new journey is opening up with a broader creative space, and at the same time sets out many new requirements. He proposed that each artist and writer continue to be attached to the lives of the people and their homeland; constantly explore and innovate to create works of ideological and artistic value, vividly reflecting the people and land of Dong Thap in the new era. "The Congress Resolution is only truly meaningful when it is transformed into action; the aspiration of the Congress only becomes a reality when each member joins hands to contribute with their own talent, responsibility and works" - Mr. Truong Trong Nghia emphasized.
